I am so excited to introduce you to this month’s Inspired Blogger. I met Michele-Lyn through, I believe, the Five Minute Friday link up. I think the first time I visited her blog, I cried for 15 minutes. What I found was a raw, genuine, loving and passionate heart after God. This woman shares with a love so deep it cuts my heart in a good way. Over the last several months, I have gotten to know Michele-Lyn and am so thankful the Lord directed me to her. I just know you will grow to love her as much as I do.
Without further adieu…….
Meet Michele-Lyn of A Life Surrendered.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Michele-Lyn. I am a wife to a wonderful man who loves me unconditionally, as Christ loves. I have been married 15 years, December of this year. I am also a homeschooling mama of four beautiful children — three spunky, confident beautiful girls, and one tender-hearted handsome son. I would not trade for anything the HAPPY CHAOS we make as a family — together. Before I was 16 years old, I lived a godless life. When I was 16 and pregnant, Jesus found me — hurt, lost and wandering. He reached out in love I never knew, rescued me from darkness, saved my soul, and healed my broken heart. Since then, I have belonged to Him, and willingly live — A Life Surrendered.
What is the purpose of your blog?
A Life Surrendered is “An ongoing narrative of a wife and mama, whose life’s author is her God.” God, as the only audience I seek, how I met Him, walking out my days — trials and triumphs by His GRACE; the stories of how I navigate my way through this life in pursuit of God, living to love better, desiring to bring encouragement and hope, especially to weary mamas. I love sharing my passions and the truths I hold tightly to, in the fight for the family — a most holy and powerful unit the devil seeks to destroy. And in everything I do, I hope to bring God glory.
What do you most enjoy about blogging?
There are actually two things that I enjoy most about blogging. First, I love how accountable it has made me here at home. The words I write are first for me, and they work on my soul. As I write, God speaks and it becomes established in my heart and mind as I see it before my eyes. It has made me a better wife and mama. My husband says so, so it must be true. Second, what I have come to love is the community that I have found in blogging. When I began blogging, I never expected to meet so many grace-filled, love-pouring, God-loving people. The out-pouring of love overwhelms my heart with joy.
What are you passionate about?
I think, naturally I am a very passionate person. However, there are a few passions that I know that have been put in my heart by the Spirit of God. My greatest passion would be for the family. I believed a lie for so long that the work I was doing as wife and mama was not fit for the Kingdom of God. I now know, the devil was behind those lies, in keeping me from fulfilling this sacred calling, with joy and love and strength. I have a heart of mentoring for my children and the rising generation. That is were most of my passion lies.
Who or what inspires you?
One of the definitions of inspire, is to inhale. When I think of someone or something that inspires me, I think about how they or it causes me to breathe in deeply Breathe in the moment, breathe in the beauty of God’s creation, breathe in deep the Life of the Spirit. The things that cause me to breathe in deeply could be as simple as the light in my baby’s eye, or a word that has become truth to me.
Tell us something random about yourself.
At night after a long day, I drink hot chocolate made from scratch. The longer the day, the taller the mound of whipped cream on top.
Will you share with us one of your favorite posts and what you love about it?
Calm ~ This is one of my earlier posts, but the words here work on my soul everyday, as I purpose to live every day with no regrets. I practice daily, letting go of the urgent to focus on what is most important — the only treasures I will take with me to heaven.
