One Year Blog Anniversary Giveaway – DAY FOUR

My Freshly Brewed Life :: One Year Blog Anniversary and Week of Giveaways
Hello my amazing friends!  I am getting so blessed by all of your lovely comments and learning so much about all of you.  I am having a little trouble keeping up in commenting back to you all through email, and it’s so important to me that I do so, especially with my newest followers.  So just give me a little grace and I will be popping into your in box or onto your blog with some love and encouragement.  I never knew how time consuming a week long giveaway could be, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!  You are all so amazing.  And after all, this week is supposed to be all about you!!
I wanted to feature a a couple more special ladies today.  So without further adieu:

Aspire

D
on’t you just love my beautiful blog design?  I wish that I could say that I did it myself, but I am somewhat technically challenged, and have an extreme fear of anything “html”, so I found a wonderfully talented and amazing blog designer to take on the challenge.  If you’ve never met Hannah, you will want to stop by her blogs.  Aspire is her personal blog, where she shares about her relationship with the Lord, posts lovely pictures of her beautiful siblings and everything in between.  She is wise beyond her young years and this older, more mature lady has learned so much from her insight.  She also has a design blog, Vivid Design Studio, and a photo blog which will blow you away!  Stop on over and say hello

Finding Joy

I am not really sure if I met Rachel before Hannah, or Hannah before Rachel, but it doesn’t really matter.  Rachel is the beautiful, encouraging, wise, determined, laundry loving (inserting a wink to Rachel here) mom of Hannah, as well as her other 6 children.  Rachel communicates God’s heart with such pose and grace, and she is open and honest about her journey.  She has become such a sweet blogging friend and I truly hope that I get to meet both her and her precious Hannah one day.  You will want to make sure you stop over to Rachel’s place and leave some bloggy love! Oh, she having a fabulous giveaway by the way!

And now for the Question of the Day.  This idea came to me from a recent blog post by my sweet friend Kate over at Dancing About Architecture.  She is another treasure I have found in this world of blogging.  She is always encouraging and positive and makes me smile.  And of course, I would love to meet her too!  Won’t you stop on over to her place and say hello?

Q:
What is the story behind the name of your blog?
Just two more days ladies!  Looking forward to drawing the winners and revealing my secret prize on Saturday!
Love you all!

I love all the blogs you mentioned! Rachel's little Samuel and my Christian were born like a week apart so it's always fun to see his pictures!

The story behind my blog name comes from my favorite verse Psalm 63:3 Because you love is greater than life itself, my lips will glorify you. Like I said, I love music, I'm always singing-so I want to sing to glorify my Lord!

P.S. Thanks for buying the headband again! I can't wait to make it and get it to you soon!:-)

Hey there! This is fun!! Ok… "It's a Wonderful Life!" is the name of my blog. I actually started it around Christmas time…and it is the title of one of my favorite Christmas movies. My first post explains best why I picked it, but at the end of the movie Harry says "a toast to my big brother George…the richest man in town!" It wasn't the money that made him 'rich' it was rich amount of love from the family and friends that he was surrounded by. I of course cry everytime and am a little teary eyed typing this! ahh… I am the 'richest girl in town'. πŸ˜‰

The name of my blog, which makes me turn red sometimes, is "Life is a Bowl of Wedgies". It's based on Job 2:10 which encourages us to accept not only the good things God gives but also the adversity He allows to come our way. Life is full of adversity and learning how to live gracefully in the midst of uncomfortable situations is a process. The book of Job helped me through my own major wedgie-ness as we walked through infertility for years. We saw God in ways we never would have otherwise and I'm thankful for those difficult times. Our God is amazing!

I stared my blog when my first son was 4 months old. It was called Elijah's Adventures back then but since we have two boys now and are in missions training it's now The Missionary Mama. I want it to be a plae where i can share our journey to the mission field and experiances there.

Barbie, I love your blog design and the work that Hannah does; amazing.

I've visited Rachel and only recently subscribed so I wouldn't lose her. I look forward to getting to know her better over time.

And your question is easy for me:
The name "Heart Choices" was whispered to me about 15 years ago in my spirit. I know the Lord gave me that name before I even heard the word blog or knew I'd be blogging and loving it.

    Happy Blogiversary Barbie!

    Love you,
    Debbie

My blog's name, "Farmgirl Writes", came from a LOT of brainstorming. I was trying to find the perfect name for my blog – something that described me in like two words.
It was inspired by a quote from Henry Thoreau that I now have on my business card.
"How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live" – that got me thinking about how my life on the farm gave me so much to write about. Hence, Farmgirl Writes, was born. πŸ™‚

Hi Barbie, The story behind the name of my blog is basically I wanted my blog to be all about the blessings the Father has poured out on me; a journal for my daughters and their kids. My grandkids are my richest blessings-so you could say that is where my name Life Blessings came from.
    Have a glorious day!

I agree–all those blogs are very lovely!

The story behind my blog name….

It all started one day when I was at my aunt's house with a few of my cousins. I was really anxious to start a photography blog, so I repeatedly asked them for suggestions towards a blog name. As we were discussing, my cousins were playing XBOX and my uncle was entertaining himself by watching.

I figured he soon became bored, so he decided to become involved with my conversation. This was previously with my 2 aunts (One is living in Florida now with my other uncle. She was just there for a long visit) and myself.

As the mummering of thoughts continued, my uncle said,"What about Visually Alex?"

I then feel in love with the name! Bloggers will be able to *Visually* view life through *Alex('s)* pictures. It was just perfect!

I'm usually very indecisive, but this title has stayed with me through 8 months already–and I don't think it's ever going away. πŸ™‚

    Siobhans chillies
Thats part of the address but it will make sense when i explain further.
When you go into my page youll see its Stars and Chilies.

2 of my favourite things in life are stars (my favourite shape and have a huge collection) and chilies. I love hot and spicy food and i just find a chilies journey extremely fascinating. From a pretty white flower to a red chili!!!

To me the journey of a chili is like life. We go through stages and we mature.
And like a star, we should always shine, never let someone kill our flame!

I follow both of these sweet ladies' blogs. Their blogs are such a blessing. πŸ™‚

Well, I named my blog The Faithful Elven Princess because I am a Lord of the Rings fan (JRR Tolkien) and love the elves in his books (hence the "Elven") and I say "Faithful Princess" because I strive to be a faithful follower of Christ, and since I am The King's daughter, I am a princess! πŸ™‚ Therefore, my blog was titled The Faithful Elven Princess. πŸ™‚

Once upon a time, my blog was called Heidi Homeschools. I closed that blog, for various reasons, and opened a new one a few months later. It was supposed to be just for reviews, so I called it Reviews by Heidi. Well, that didn't last – I couldn't stop blogging about family, homeschooling, and life. So, eventually it got changed to Reviews & Reflections.

    Hi Barbie,

I first chose the handle β€œechoinghim” when I was a teenager and was getting my very first email account over ten years ago! This name has stuck with me over the last decade and seemed fitting for my website’s name (www.echoinghim.com) as it reminds me of both my goal and His promise to me that I will be conformed to the likeness of Jesus (Romans 8:29) and that I will be made like Him when I finally get to see Him face to face when He returns (1 John 3:2)! Even as Jesus said that he only did what he saw the Father doing (John 5:19), I want to be His echo, doing what He would do, saying what He would say, praying what He would pray. πŸ™‚

    Barbie,

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your kind comment. Your prayers are appreciated! My blog is named "The Beauty in His Grip" because I have learned that in His hands there is incredible beauty…unsurpassed in the world. He offers peace, joy, calm, strength, forgiveness and love. And there is nothing more beautiful than His love. I am so thankful to be in His grip.

I will have to check out the blogs you mentioned. The story behind my blog name linesfromlaurap is, a few years ago, I worked at a different trucking company, and in our company newsletter, I had a little column, called lines from laura…so I decided to add the "p". Now it is called Oscar & Me, because of my dog, Oscar.

Mine is Raindrops & Rainbows….when I named it I was thinking of all the different kinds of days God gives us, some full of rainbows and others more raindrops. I've shared both on my blog. I have a saying as a subtitle that is from a little poster thingy I used to have in my room: "Teach me to know that the promise of the rainbow is found, not in cloud-free days, but in the midst of the storm."

My blog's name "My Lifesong" comes from the song 'Lifesong' by Casting Crowns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaia32TsPq0&feature=related).

I've included my favorite lines from the song as a quote in my blog's header as well..

    May the words I say
    And the things I do
    Make my lifesong sing
    Bring a smile to you

I pray this for my life. That whatever I do or say, is pleasing to God and brings a smile to His face.

Oh, I know what you mean! I LOVE the blog design Hannah made for me. She does *amazing* work!

In answer to your question… ever since I can remember my favorite verses have been Philippians 4:11-13. ("…for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances… I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.") Because that passage has always been so encouraging to me, "Content in Christ" seemed like the perfect name for my blog. πŸ™‚
