During worship on Friday Night at our church’s Creative Arts Conference, the Lord showed me a picture of me standing and worshipping.  The ground beneath me opened up and out of the ground came these beautiful, vibrant vines, blossoming with different colored flowers.  They began to wrap themselves around me, and I heard the Lord say,

“Look at all that I have given to you.  Now bloom!”

This reminded me of the saying, “Bloom where you are planted.”  We have each been given so many wonderful giftings by the Lord.  His desire is that we would use those giftings to minister to others. This is really the first time I have tried to actually put onto canvass what the Lord showed me in a picture.  I normally just paint with feeling and color and it is completely abstract.  This was a challenge for me.

I have to work on my technique but I hope that you can see the blooming flowers in this picture and that you will be reminded to bloom where the Lord has planted you!

Lovely painting and even lovelier sentiment. You have such a gift with words, Barbie. The LORD seems to just shine through you.

Your paintings are wonderful and I can feel the presence of God there. God struck me with the gift of dance and when I feel Him I get this amazingly bubbly feeling inside me; that is what I feel when I look at your painting.

Yep, bloom that what He is saying.

    God Bless,
