While There Is Still Time

Today I thought it would be fun to participate in 5 Minute Friday with The Gypsy Mama (hosted over at (in)Courage today).  I have seen this on many of the blogs I read and always wondered what it would be like to participate in this writing exercise.  It’s a time to write freely, without worrying about editing or perfection.  A time to write from the overflow of your heart.  Although I was pulling my hair out at the 3 minute mark, as brain block tried to rear it’s ugly head, I am thrilled with my accomplishment.  And, it was fun and oh so freeing.  You should try it!  I think I found a place to come and visit on Fridays!

Today’s word = “Still”……

{START}

While there is still time…

I would like to tell you I love you.  You make me smile.  My heart skips a beat when you walk into the room.

While there is still time…

I would like to say I forgive you, for not being perfect.  For not always being there for me.  For not holding my hand.

While there is still time…

I would like to say that You matter. Your thoughts, your opinions, your unspoken words.

While there is still time…

I would like to say you don’t have to change.  I accept you just as you are.

While there is still time…

I would like to say please be patient, I am still learning to love, even after all this time.

While there is still time…

I would like to say I am so thankful that God is still molding and shaping me.

While there is still time…

I would like to say we are good together.  You and me.  And that is all that matters.

{STOP}

Would you like to try?  You know you want to.  It’s easy:

1. Write for 5 minutes flat for pure unedited love of the written word on the prompt, “Still.”
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Get a little crazy with encouragement in the comments of the five minuter who linked up before you.

    Hi there…
    Thank you for coming over and visiting my blog today. 🙂 It seems that so often, marriage is portrayed as ugly, too difficult, and just….not what you and I seem to think at all! So glad to hear someone else talk positively about such a beautiful committment. Blessings to you.
