Inspired Blogger: {Beth @ My Destiny}

I am excited to introduce you to my friend Beth at My Destiny as my featured blogger for August.  I can’t remember exactly how I found Beth or when, but I am so thankful that I did.  We are kindred spirits!  She not only makes me laugh, but she challenges me to go deeper in my walk with the Lord.

My Destiny Sharing Hope

Tell me a little bit about yourself?

I am a busy SAHM who lives in NC.  I’m 100% southern and say “y’all” and “bless your heart” with a good ol’ southern draw.  Magnolias, gardenias, and mimosa blossoms fill my heart and childhood memories.  If I had my choice of beverage (other than water), it would be sweet tea of course!  I have been married to my “Boaz” for almost 22 years and we have a precious daughter who is starting kindergarten this year!  Sniff, sniff!  I am a blessed woman!

What is the purpose of your blog?

The purpose of my blog is to point people to Jesus.   Even more specific, it is aimed at people who are already Christians, but don’t walk in the freedom God has for them.   Sometimes I’m silly too.  My readers won’t just see my serious side!   Once upon a time there were some posts from a Meme I joined called “Not Me Mondays.”  (Those posts were so much fun!)   Overall, you will see the ups and downs of a woman who loves Jesus and desires to grow deeper.  I am transparent!  Ahem, … maybe too transparent!  Have you seen my weight loss pictures?  Oh my!

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about seeing the captives set FREE.  I was once BOUND by fear.  I had panic attacks and couldn’t function as a normal adult.  The fear directed my steps day and night and held me helplessly captive.  Now that I am free, I want to see others walk in that same freedom!  I also want to see people healed physically.

Who or what inspires you?

Believe it or not, this is a difficult question for me to answer.  I see God in every situation of my life.  I see Him in creation and I see Him in the pain.  I love to learn from those who are further along in their walk with the Lord.  I love gleaning from others!!!  I have to admit though, there is NOTHING I love more than being in God’s presence!

What else would you like my readers to know about you?

I live in the city limits but also LIVE ON A FARM.  That’s right.  We have cows, chickens, goats, and the regular pets (cats and a dog).  We sell our farm fresh eggs to our neighbors throughout the year, but during the months of September and October we open our farm to the public for a CORN MAZE!  Nothing haunted here (only the Holy Spirit allowed), just pumpkins, bounce houses, hay rides and other activities — clean family fun.  Last year we had over 30,000 people walk through our maze.  Crazy – I know, but we give GOD all of the glory!  After Thanksgiving we sell Christmas trees.   If you live in NC and want to find our farm, you can reach me through my blog.

Thanks for sharing more about Beth with us today, Barbie! I’ve been following her blog for awhile now, but learned some things about her I did not know. And her passion to see the captives free makes me want to shout a hearty Michigan “Amen!”.
    Sweet blessings to you both~
    Cindy 🙂

I love Beth and have followed her blog for several years now.  She is the real deal!  I remember when I first learned about her family’s corn maze.  I wanted to go to visit it.  Her surroundings are so different from mine and I love that. Farm animals, open spaces …and she’s even posted a few videos of her on a tractor.

But most of all, her love for the Lord comes through loud and clear.  She is full of love and grace but speaks the truth.  I love her transparency as she shares her struggles with her readers.  Beth is someone I hope I get to meet this side of heaven.

    So glad you profiled her!

    Blessings and love,

Oh Joan, I totally wish I could visit her corn maze too!  How fun that would be.
