Abiding {Day 10} – He Leads Me

The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name. (Psalm 23:1-3)

Father, I am so thankful for your leadership in my life.  You are a gentle and loving Shepherd and I love they way you lead me.  I love the gentle way you care for my heart.  You neither push me into your presence, or demand anything from me in return.  Your only desire is to love me.  And even when my love for You is imperfect, You still desire me.  Thank you for being such a Good Father.  Thank you for Your wisdom and guidance in my life.

When I abide in Your presence, I will never be left wanting.  For in your presence is fullness of joy and at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  I have set my heart on You, my one true desire.  Even on days when I miss it, on days when abiding is hard, You remain close to me.  You long to give good gifts — peace, joy, hope, strength, and so much more!  You draw me by your love.  You call me to come away with you!

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  (Psalm 16:11)

Thank you for allowing me to rest in Your presence and for leading me to your peaceful streams.  Your river runs, overflowing with the richness of Your mercy, with words of life, hope and refreshing for my weary soul.  There on the bank of the river, I will crawl up into your lap, underneath your shade and find rest.  For in that place where peace and quiet reside, stillness of heart is found.  And as I sit and rest there in Your presence, all my cares and worries become small, and are washed away in the river of Your love.

Father, thank you for giving me the grace to walk out this journey.  You are my strength in times of weakness.  My weakness is not a stumbling block, but rather an opportunity for growth.  I know that apart from You, I can do nothing.  But with You, all things are possible!  So I come, Lord, and I offer you my weak love.  I give you my weak “yes”.  Even when I don’t fully understand what it is you are asking of me, I say “Yes”.  I know that I can trust You with my heart.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.  (Philippians 4:13)

And Father, thank you that when I abide in You, You will lead me in the way I should go.  My foot will neither slip nor stumble.  For you will keep me on the straight and narrow road and I will walk along right paths and bring glory to Your Name.  I want nothing more that my life to be a testimony of your love and faithfulness towards me.

So I come.  Father, teach me to continually abide in Your presence.

    “You neither push me into your presence, or demand anything from me in return.  Your only desire is to love me.”  I’m learning this truth too through reading Grace for the Good Girl.  What an amazing love my Father God has for me!

    i really like this: “When I abide in Your presence, I will never be left wanting.”  it’s so true.  and reminds me how often we settle for less instead of the most – the most High God.
