Five Minute Friday: Color
I love Fridays. It’s when I get to take part in the 5 Minute Friday with The Gypsy Mama, and other fabulous bloggers. We have a word prompt and get just 5 minutes to write, without worrying whether it’s just right or not. Here are my words, freely flowing out of my heart into yours.
Today’s Prompt: Color
I stood at the blank canvas, timid and a little scared. He had called me to create, but I could only reflect on my lack of ability and technique. Yet He, the Master Artist, the one so full of color that it overwhelms me at times — He was calling me to take a chance, to step out and allow myself the freedom to create with color.
I gathered up my brushes and my paints of blues, greens, golds and tans. I wasn’t sure what I was doing. Timid, I held back. I was fearful. What would they think? What if the colors I painted had no form and did not speak His heart? Gently, slowly, I began to hear the voice of the Master Artist. He guided my hands, effortless and beautifully across the blank canvas until it was filled with color. He brought revelation to my heart and to my mind. God displayed His love to me that day on the blank canvas.
My life is a blank canvas. And He is the Master Artist who comes to fill my life with color. Joy, peace, freedom, love — these are just a few of the colors flowing from His heart to mine. I am thankful I get to experience painting with the Master Artist. May He continue to color my canvas with is love.
