Weekend Whispers

The Weekend Brew: A Woman Deserving of Praise

photo credit

“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Before I was married, I use to read Proverbs 31 and think that it didn’t apply to me.  It is all about a woman with a husband and children, who is a keeper of her home.  But I want to encourage you today my friend, whether you are married, single, with or without children, have the privilege of tending to your home daily, or work full/part time, you are a blessed woman.  Whatever work you do, and whoever you have the privilege of serving on a daily basis in your life, you are deserving of praise and adoration.  As a women, you give so much — whether it is in marriage, as a mother or a friend.  I hope you will take some time for yourself today.  You are worth it!

I want to wish you all a happy Mother’s Day.  And if you are not a mom, may you have an opportunity to encourage a younger mom who God has brought into your life.

I would love for you to join me for Fresh Brewed Sundays.  This is where we share a scripture with just simple insight.  No heavy words necessary.  Feel free to use the button in your post and link up below!

    I once thought that I couldn’t be a Proverbs 31 woman  because I worked outside the home. Then someone explained to me that this woman worked also.  You are right, we can all be a P31 woman. Happy Mother’s day to you!

    We went through a season where we were reading Proverbs with our kids every day at dinner and when my husband read the 31st, he turned to them and said, “that sounds like you mom doens’t it.”  I couldn’t think of a better compliment and a memory to cherish. I hope you have a Happy Mothers Day Barbie and thanks for this needed encouragement.

    Happy Mother’s Day to you Barbie!  Yes, Proverbs 31 applies to all of us women, even those who don’t have their own children.  I get to spend my days with so many 3-4 year olds and at times they slip and call Miss Debbie Mommy.  It is so cute!
