How are you feeling today? I hear you as you shrug your shoulders. You don’t have to use words to tell me that you aren’t feeling too good about yourself these days. Somewhere along the way you’ve stopped believing that you are good, or that anything you do is good.
Let’s look at some other words that describe “good”:
virtuous, righteous, upright, upstanding, moral, ethical, exemplary, irreproachable, blameless, guiltless, honorable, respectable, noble, trustworthy, praiseworthy, admirable; angelic.
These are heavy words to take on. Remember the labels? They somehow wedge their way into your mind until you think about yourself as less than you are:
You don’t feel like a good woman.
You don’t believe you’re a good wife.
You don’t think you’re a good mom.
You aren’t sure you have anything good to offer to anyone.
Let me bring you back to reality for a moment. I don’t create junk. Everything that I spoke into existence, everything that I created is good. After I fashioned you, I looked upon your beauty and said, “it is good”.
You are a good woman,
because you strive to love Me with your whole heart.
You are a good wife,
because you seek to honor your husband and love Him unconditionally.
You are a good mom,
because you love your children fiercely and desire to show them My love.
You, my Beloved One, have so much good to offer to this world.
You are good, because I am good, and my goodness lives in you.
Will you believe in yourself today? Will you believe that you are good?
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever. (Psalm 23:6)
