Today I am joining Lisa-Jo and others for the 5 Minute Friday where we are given a word prompt and write for just 5 minutes simply for the joy of writing. No editing or backtracking necessary. No need to be perfect. Just words freely flowing from my heart to yours.
Today, I choose to remember the goodness of God. If I will open my eyes wide enough, I can see His beauty all around me. In the sparkle of my daughter’s eyes, in the dimple in my son’s cheek, in the husband who reads the Bible as He sits beside me, in the son who sings with all of his heart to proclaim the beauty of the Lord through song, and in the daughter and new son-in-love, learning to live life together.
His goodness is all around me. His nearness, His very presence, is my good. All I really need is Him. And when my heart is weary, when I lack the faith to believe He would do what He said He would do, I pull myself up and choose to walk forward. Into unknown territory I will go, but I know that He is right there, surrounding me with His goodness, allowing me to see His beauty among the thorns and thistles of life.
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)
There is no doubt in my mind that God is good. all the time. Today, I choose to remember. Will you take a moment to remember the goodness of the Lord today? I would love for you to share with me in the comments below.
