Announcing….Coffee Talk With Jesus (the book) and Coffee Talk Tuesday (the newsletter)

Come back later today for Day 21 of my 31 Days of Art & Inspiration series.  In the meantime, I have a couple of important announcements to make!

I’ve been praying, pressing into the Lord since the beginning of this year about the next step for me as a blogger, writer and encourager.  I want to follow His leading, always.  I’ve been so encouraged by your love, support and friendship here over the last five years.  My heart is to always encourage you, through my words, and through my life lived as an example of Christ’s love.

I’ve been pondering for a while now about turning last year’s 31 Days of writing into a book…a real book.  But I had so much fear in moving forward.  I didn’t see myself as a writer, or an author for that matter.  I got so caught up in the comparison game, comparing myself to “real writers”, that I lost sight of the desire that I believe God placed on my own heart.  But after much prayer, gaining my family’s support, seeking the council of blogging and “in-real-life” friends, I am excited to announce that I have a book in the making!

Coffee Talk With Jesus – Intimate Chats With the Savior will be available for purchase by December 15th if all goes according to plan.  Just in time for Christmas!  It will be available in PDF format, for Kindle and as a hard copy book, should you desire to hold it in your hands.  This series is based on my blog series, “Coffee Talk With Jesus”, which I wrote in 2012.  It is a 31-day devotional, written from God’s heart directly to His daughters, based in the truth of the scriptures.  I am praying that it will bless and encourage those who read it.

I would love your help in spreading the word!

I am looking for bloggers who are willing to review the book during the month of November and post a review on their blog the first two weeks of December.  It is a very easy read, as each devotional is short.  I already have about 10 bloggers who have agreed to do a review.  I am looking for at least 10 more.  There may be a giveaway of the book involved for each review posted.

If you are interested, please email me at

Stay informed about the book’s progress by subscribing to my new newsletter!

I am so excited to announce that beginning the first Tuesday of November, and each month following, Lord willing, Coffee Talk Tuesday will be delivered to your in box, if you desire.

I know many of you may already receive my blog posts in a reader or through email, but the newsletter will contain different content!  Here is what you can expect each month:

  • A short devotional post based on what I feel the Lord would have me to share with you.
  • Personal shares from the home front (personal prayer requests, other happenings in my life, recipes)
  • FREE printables of my art or scripture photos.
  • Favorite links around the web.  I promise to share quality posts only (no giveaways, link ups, etc.).

The newsletter is still evolving, and I would love your help to make it great.  If there is something you’d like to see incorporated, let me know.  The newsletter is, after all, for YOU, my beloved readers!

How do I subscribe to the newsletter?

All you have to do to subscribe is visit the sign up form on my side bar.  There are actually two.  The first one is for email subscription for my blog posts.  The second one is for newsletter sign up.  It looks like this:

Oh Barbie, Congratulations and way to go! I have so enjoyed your 31 days this time around with such beautiful art and creativity! I believe I read along last year also and I’m so glad that you stepped out to publish this! When I read these or others that you have shared, I often thought they were like Sarah’s “Jesus Calling” and now you have moved out into your calling! This is so wonderful!

If you have not gotten the 10 more bloggers, I would love to be one. I review for Booksneeze and on Amazon, I just did a few: one from Max Lucado and the most recent from Pete Wilson. Anyways, I can’t wait until December and how wise to get it published before the holidays. It will be a great GIFT for many!
I have really enjoyed your blog (when I’ve been able to read or visit) and LOVE your writing style.

Looking forward to this! This is GREAT news! Blessings and please let me know …

    Peace and love in Christ,
