I was honored to paint this piece at the Marketplace Impact Conference at Convergence House of Prayer last year. I didn’t have any sense of direction before I painted, so I simply asked the Lord to move through me, as I offered my hands to Him to be used for His glory.
After I painted, I stood back and asked the Lord what He was saying through the painting. I heard two words: Kingdom and Glory. I then asked Him for revelation as to what it meant. He referred me to Psalm 145:
The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol you.
They tell of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might,
so that all people may know of your mighty acts
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.
This has been my prayer for marketplace Christians since that conference. God desires that His Kingdom break through in the marketplace, and that His glory be revealed. I continue to ask the Lord for boldness for Christians in the marketplace, that they would step out unashamedly and tell of the glory of His kingdom and speak of His might.
May His light go forth in the marketplace and may He draw all men unto Himself!
*This painting was done entirely with my hands.
