Sometimes You Just Can’t Say The Things You Want To Say by Dionna of Beauty In The Storm

dionna.3

Sometimes you just can’t say the things you want to say. Your heart may feel overwhelmed and so much may be going on in your head and in your life…. And yet you can’t really talk about it.

It’s not that you are trying to keep secrets from others or that you are trying to be or look like someone you’re not. It’s that you care more about relationships that are fragile or might break if you speak.

These times, these roads are hard to walk. It’s not like a life-crisis event is happening. But sometimes, sometimes it may be that certain things are just tough. Fears crop up, feelings get hurt, and differences need to be worked out. It can feel like you won’t win any way you play it and the odds are stacked against you.

But they’re not. I’ve learned that time and time again. So many fears of what “could” happen in situations. Tears, over-thinking, and sleepless nights ensue. Answers fail to come and all you can do is get on your knees and cry out to God.

For you can talk to Him. You can always talk to Him.

He is there to listen to you vent for the umpteenth time over something a family member did that really got to you. He’s there to hear your frustrations over marriage issues, and your deep-seeded dreams for your children. He’s always there. Listening. Loving. Caring.

And guiding.

I’ve wondered on many an occasions how I would possibly get my heart through something without it being broken into a million tiny pieces. And yet get through it I did. My heart has broken, but never to the point where it couldn’t be mended and healed back, bit by bit.

It’s a risk when you love. You can’t control others and you can’t make choices for them. Oh, how I wish we could!

So for those times when you can’t share with others what really burdens or hurts your heart – share with HIM. The One who knows it all already, and just wants to hear it from us. The One who knows how it will all unfold. The One who cares more about the relationships in your life, than you do.

Sometimes we just can’t really say the things we want to say. Someone may ask, “how are you? How’s your family?” and you say, “Fine.” When what you want to do is spill the beans about what your child is going through and the worries that encompass your life.

But He understands. He knows. And He will carry you through until there is a point where you CAN share something. Where you CAN lean on others without being worried about breaking a trust with someone else.

We walk our paths alone sometimes as humans. But there are always footprints walking with us. And when we speak to the wind, the sea, and the sky….He hears and He listens.

He WILL be faithful to you and He will honor the love you have for the special people in your life. Trust in it. Trust in Him. And wait for Him to whisper back to you His beautiful plan.

Great post, Donna! You are so right about talking to the Lord and revealing your heart. Sometimes, I want to spill the beans to those who ask about my day, but I know that the real holder of my heart is the Lord and He is the only One who can keep my heart and soul. Even if my heart is broken into a million pieces, I know He is the only Glue for my brokenness. Joy to you and thank you, for such an inspirational piece~

“But there are always footprints walking with us. And when we speak to the wind, the sea, and the sky….He hears and He listens.” This what such a powerful reminder, Dionna. Something I should know but too often I forget how we have Someone who wants us to talk to Him about EVERYTHING. Blessings to you.

Such a good post with gentle reminders to trust our God. I struggle with control and desire to give that up to Him. I know I can trust Him I just get to moving so fast and think I can do things on my own many times.

I think we ALL struggle with control, Melody! But slowing down does help us focus our priorities and efforts. 🙂
