Featured Writer: Chrissy @ The Brave Wanderer

I am excited to introduce you to my new friend Chrissy from Germany. I met Chrissy during the 31 Days of October when I stumbled upon her beautiful blog. I was captivated not only by her words and writing style, but by her gorgeous photography. I know you will love her.

Dear Reader,

I know it can be hard forgetting what was. So often the past is stuck in our mind, our body and soul and we cannot help but dwell on the past. Maybe because we got hurt or disappointed. Maybe we had to suffer and worry about something, maybe mourn a loss. It is so hard to let go. There could be something we have done or said to someone, but we are unable to take it back and regret that deeply. Things we are not proud of, but just cannot forget.

We all go through phases in our lives that test our strength and willpower to its core. Maybe you are experiencing such a phase right now. During hard times it is so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We feel stuck and left alone. Others surrounding us all seem so lucky and happy, even if they aren’t – how could we know, they might be struggling just like us. But when hitting rock bottom we feel as though everyone else is better off than we are.

That is not true. We all have our own battles. And no one but you can conquer the challenges that have been chosen for you. You were chosen for this battle because you were held worthy of it. And you are. You are strong. You can do it. I know it’s hard and you feel like rather giving up, because that would be easy, right?

Well, it’s not! Never give up – you can do this. All you have to do is B E L I E V E. Believe in yourself, believe that it is the right choice to fight. Believe with all your might. You will feel so much better once you’ve made it through this and you will come out of it a much stronger and wiser person. One day when you look back you will see it and you will understand that it was the right thing to do.

Let go of the past – you cannot change it. But you can try and prevent it from repeating itself. Make a change and reach forward wholeheartedly – you will find guidance if you believe. Trust in your strength and believe in yourself.

“forgetting those things that are behind us & reaching forward to the things ahead”

Thank you for having me!

This was such an encouraging post. Wonderful choice for a guest blogger! We all have our own things we are going through, and as Chrissy stated, we each must mull through them in our own way and at our own pace. Beautiful post!

Wow, love this. It’s beautifully written. And many times I have to remind myself to stop looking at the past and look forward to what God has for me. 🙂

  6. Chrissy, I am so happy to meet you here. What beautiful encouragement–particularly the urging to keep fighting, looking ahead and not giving up. Yes, the past can be a huge burden to our going forward unless we give it to God and trust Him with it–and then we let it go. Thank you.
