A Love Letter From God // Review & Giveaway!

Love Letter From God_600

As a mom, I have fond memories of reading to my children when they were younger. They are mostly grown up now. It was important to me that my children were exposed to books that would develop their character and give them a greater understanding of who they were in Christ.

As a soon-to-be grandma for the first time, my search continues for quality, God-centered books that will be read throughout the generations. Imagine my delight when I was given the opportunity to review A Love Letter From God by P.K. Hallinan.

About the book

In this story, the author supposes what God might say in a personal letter written to a child. The unconditional and unlimited nature of God’s love is revealed through simple and lyrical language. Rich and textured illustrations, along with heart-shaped die-cuts, will make this uplifting book a family favorite. It is a great message for little ones on Valentines Day, or for everyday inspiration. Love Letter from God will remind children of God’s eternal love and how He demonstrates that love through everyday miracles and by the wonder of His presence. Thanks to the colorful and touching illustrations of Laura Watson, children will also learn how to appreciate their own individuality and how to use their unique gifts to be a blessing to others.

My Thoughts

Can I just tell you, when I opened the package and held the book in my hands for the first time, my heart was filled with joy and I couldn’t stop smiling.  Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that we are supposed to come to God as if we were children, without all of the baggage we as adults can sometimes carry, and I just knew I was going to be blessed in a big way while reading this book.

The book is packed with colorful illustrations, and words from the heart of God to His children. I read this book with my daughter, who is 23 and expecting her first child, and she nearly cried when she read it. I was equally as moved. I think any time you get your hands on the truth of what God says about you, you can’t help but be moved.

I highly recommend this book to children of any age, from 0 to 100!

Sometimes we forget how lovely that feeling is when we receive gifts. And sometimes we take grace for granted we don’t thank God enough for receiving them. That feeling you describe; smiling and feeling so happy is a feeling I’ve missed. Reminds me that the best things come in small packages…and are often free. 😀

Oh boy, if God were to write me a love letter, it would probably go something like this:

    Dear Rosann,

It’s Me, God. No, really, it is. No. You aren’t being tricked by the devil. It’s really me. Rosann, trust Me! What I want you to know is I love you and you don’t have to live in fear or without hope. I have always been there for you and I will always will be. One day you will see my great big plan for your life from a heavenly perspective and you’ll understand. Until then, keep reading My Word. Keep talking to Me. I love our talks! Keep listening to the Holy Spirit. Keep responding in obedience. Yes, I know you aren’t without flaws. I know you’ve sinned. But I created You child, and I’m so pleased with My creation. Yes, I am. Rosann, stop arguing with me in your mind. I’ve just written you a beautiful love letter. Why can’t you just accept a compliment? What is so hard to believe about My words? Good grief, girl, you are a mess. I mean, I love you. I do!

LOL! Well, maybe it wouldn’t go just like that, but I’m sure I frustrate God frequently. 😀

  6. Love letters from God are so good for all of us. I think in this season of life God would say, “You are a good mama, I am in control. Just listen and obey my commandments for you. You are imperfect but I am perfect in your weakness. I love you.”
