The Everlasting Father

E_F_Everlasting Father

As a little girl growing up, I did not have the spiritual guidance of a father who walked with the Lord. I knew my earthly father loved me, but as I grew up and began my relationship with God, I’ve taken a long journey to realizing how very much this God in heaven loves me.  The concept of being a daughter of the King of Kings, and having a Father in heaven who’s love for me is unconditional and endless, has taken me some time to understand.

The Prophet Isaiah foretold that Jesus would be called “Everlasting Father” among other things.

Everlasting – eternal, endless, never-ending, abiding, enduring, infinite, boundless, timeless.

When I read the definition of what the word everlasting actually means it sends chills up my spine.  Unlike my relationship with my early father, my relationship with my Father in heaven will never end. And better yet, His love for me will never end.

My Father in Heaven, the Everlasting Father, will love me forever, no matter what.

I happened upon this video today, Everlasting Father, by Elevation Worship, and it totally blessed me.

Everlasting Father
Enduring love forever
Your kindness makes me stronger
You run to me
You run to me
Even when I wander far
Your presence never leaves me
Your voice of mercy calls me home
Draws me close
Everlasting Father
Enduring love forever
Your kindness makes me stronger
You run to me
You run to me
I am loved, I am loved
By my Father, I’m forever Yours

Oh, Barbie, this is a Truth I am slowly learning as well. It is such an awesome Truth that my mind can’t seem to fathom His Love; I can’t wrap my brain around it! I don’t remember my father and I only recall my step-father embracing me once. He was an alcoholic and all I felt around him was terror. So to realize we have God The Father whose Love never ends is a blessing too big for human words! Thank you so much for sharing this today!

Oh, how thankful I am for my Everlasting Father! When my daddy left us my Father God stepped up and has never failed me.

“Everlasting – eternal, endless, never-ending, abiding, enduring, infinite, boundless, timeless.” How absolutely wonderful and amazing is our God – the everlasting, the One who adopts us as His own.
