His Promise Still Stands // Glimpses Link Up

First of all, I just want to thank you guys for encouraging my heart in a HUGE way with my last post. I sometimes lose sight that even though I’m walking through a valley, God is still using me. You’ve given me the strength to keep going, to just be real and go with where the Spirit leads me concerning my writing. I truly love each and every one of you who come here every week and am filled with such gratitude that we can do life together in this way.

My daughter, son-in-law, my two year old grandson and our soon-to-be born grandson moved in with us this past week. We’ve gone from a family of five to almost 9! So things have been a little chaotic, but can I just say how much this Nana is enjoying so much time with our grandson. And I cannot wait until Nathan is born. I’m going to enjoy cuddling him a lot!

Today I want to share with you a song we sang in worship today, as I can’t seem to find my words for a post. But this song….I could not keep the tears from falling. I was reminded once again of the faithfulness of God, no matter what season in life we are walking in. And what I took away from this song is that HE WILL DO IT AGAIN! I’ve seen Him move powerfully in my life, and I will see Him do it again. He is a good God and He will never fail me. When you fear you may lose heart, remember His promise still stands. Great is His faithfulness.

I don’t know what season you are walking in. Perhaps it’s a season of intense joy. Perhaps you are broken and needing a touch from the Lord. I hope that no matter where you find yourself, this song will minister to your heart. I hope you will find a quiet place to sit back, close your eyes and allow God to minister to your heart through it.

And now I continue to list the beauty that I’m finding in my every day life.

I can’t get the song out of my head. I’ve been reminding myself of His faithfulness several times a day. Thanks for stopping by Lesley.

  2. Barbie,
I loved this music video….just what I needed this morning and this week as I face yet another surgery. “You’ve never failed me yet.” Resting in that line from the song…..Amen!

Glad you have felt encouragement from friends and the One who lifts your head….
    Bev xx

  3. We’re walking side by side in the grammy chaos! I’ve got a little guy and then a new sibling coming in September, and like you, I can’t wait to cuddle that little bundle. Big brother is very active and won’t bear much time in Bam’s lap anymore (unless we’re reading a book!).

  4. Diane says:

Beautiful! Thank you so much for the ministry of that song, Barbie! Trusting God with you.

What a crazy but fun time having so many people under one roof. Enjoy the mess!!! 🙂 As I read your post, I wondered if simply sharing the struggle to write is a niche for you. Juggling life and writing…it’s something I appreciate about you.

    • Barbie says:

Oh Amy, yes! I do feel that is my niche right now. For some reason, God has not allowed me to stop writing. Thank you for being here!

  10. I love the song! I don’t think I’ve heard it before, so thank you for introducing it to us! I’ve shared it with a young lady who has lived a very difficult time for the majority of her life. I think she’ll like it, too.
Congrats on the soon to be born baby! God bless you all as you make these changes in your lives together.
“You’ve never failed me yet.” And He never will!!! Amen!

I appreciate how you embrace the hard seasons by looking for gifts, for the good in the midst of the hard. That is a joy-inducing spiritual discipline, to be sure.

    • Barbie says:

Thanks so much Natalie. Some weeks I come kicking and screaming with my lists of blessings, but once I’ve got them down, I feel so much better. There is so much power in thanksgiving!

  13. Susan Shipe says:

A house full could be a tremendous help to your family right now as long as everyone pulls their own weight. Barbie, boundaries…remember boundaries with love & grace. Just thinking of YOU.

  14. Trudy says:

Yes, Barbie, God still uses you even when you’re going through a dark valley. Your struggles make many feel less alone, including me. Those grandchildren can really bring sunshine to our hearts, can’t they? 🙂 Your graphic and the song really speak encouragement to my weary heart and body today. I have never heard of that song before, and I love it. Love and hugs to you!

  15. Joy Lenton says:

Barbie, your words are always worth reading, be they many or few. It’s heartening to hear how you have been encouraged by us. It’s an honour to be a part of your faith journey, sharing hallelujahs and hiccups! May God give you strength for the busy days ahead with your family, and some tiny pockets of rest and peace in which to recoup and breathe. I loved the video, enjoying a song that was new to me and has such uplifting words. Thank you for sharing it and for making this space such a welcoming place to be. Bless you, friend! xo

  18. Mary Geisen says:

What a blessing to receive so much encouragement. That’s why this writing community is the best and I love you are part of it.

I imagine adding three more people to your house will squeeze you in ways you cannot even think about now. I’m believing it will be a huge blessing for all. My son and daughter-in-law have been living with me since October. They do not have kids but it makes a difference when you are used to being by yourself. Praying for you as you transition into this new normal. God’s presence will get you through.

    • Barbie says:

It has been interesting to say the least, especially when it comes to meal planning. I am thankful for God’s grace and His strength. Thank you for visiting Mary!
