Rick Warren’s “God’s Great Love For You” Review & Giveaway

I love finding new children’s books to add to my collection.  Although my own kids are grown (for the most part), I continually add to my growing collection of children’s books that I’ve been storing up for my grandkids.  One new book we’ve had the opportunity to review is God’s Great Love For You by Rick Warren.

God’s Great Love for You, written by #1 New York Times bestselling author and respected pastor Rick Warren, takes children on a whimsical and heartfelt journey that lets them know God’s love is with them wherever they go. With breathtaking illustrations by Chris Saunders, the simple yet poignant text comes alive as a child journeys to places far and near and discovers God’s great love is perfect, and everywhere, and will never end.

I love the cute and colorful illustrations in this book.  The are cartoonish, yet realistic and are bright and catchy to little eyes (big ones too!).  As there are just a few words on each page, this is the perfect bedtime story to remind little ones that God’s love is with them at all times.  The recommended age range for this book is 4-8, but my two-year old grandson really enjoyed it.  Here is my grandson Eli enjoying this book with his daddy.

Would you like to win a copy of God’s Great Love For You for a little one that you love?  To enter, just leave a comment and tell me what story you like to read to your kids or grandkids at bed time.  I will draw a winner at random on Tuesday, November 21st at 9PM (PST).

Very cute book. It truly depended on the time of year as we had several we loved to read together – The Velveteen Rabbit, The Nutcracker, The Hungry Caterpillar .. to name just a few.

Oh that looks gorgeous! Ya know… as much as I love books, I don’t have much of a stash going for Lil’ Miss yet! Our girlie is not (yet) a big reader and I am pretty sure we got rid of all her children’s books years ago… I’ll Love You Forever is one I know for sure we still have on hand… as well as some Bible board books, but I’d love to add this to a growing stack!

I got rid of most of my kids books too. When my grandson turned 1 I subscribed to a monthly children’s book club and he received so many books for that year we did it. I’ll Love You Forever is certainly one of our favorites!

  4. Dear Barbie, anything written by Rick Warren has to be great. My favorite book to read and I cry every time I read it is Love You Forever. Blessings Diana

I have read so many books to our now grown daughter over the years. We enjoyed Peter Rabbit, the Bernstein Bears books, children’s Bible stories and much, much more. Her and her husband are expecting their first baby (our first grandchild) any day now and I anticipate a whole new season of reading!

  6. Oh my this book looks adorable! My 4 year old granddaughter LOVES books! She’s going to grow up to be just like her mommy and NaNa!! I got her Lysa Terkeurst’s book last year called Win or Lose I Love You, and she absolutely loves that book! I might just know the words by heart!
