Inspired Blogger: {Kerri of A Simple Princess}
I am so excited to introduce you to my September featured blogger.
Kerri at A Simple Princess

Tell me a little bit about yourself?
I am a wife to an amazing husband, my best friend, Ryan and a WAHMommy. My kiddos range in ages of 3-23. I have always had a passion for children and wanted to be a “mommy” when I grew up….now I have 5 children, 3 of which are no longer living at home and my eldest has blessed me with 2 grandbabies who call me “neena”! I am a home childcare provider for 3 children, who learn about Jesus in our daily activities! I also volunteer twice a month at a local YouthForChrist center in our downtown core, reaching children from ages 11-16.
I love to start my day out with a good, hot cup of coffee and my Bible…because without either, my day does not flow quite right!
I love to craft and decorate, to photograph take pictures, paint and draw, read and journal, scrapbook, sing and dance, although I don’t do any of these things often enough. I am a list maker, note taker, point jotter-er who is slightly “geeky” and loves my computer but would much rather have pen and paper in hand. I am also a food fanatic, chocoholic, carb lover who is slightly overweight and doesn’t particularly like to exercise, but is in the process of becoming healthy in all aspects of my life! I am without a doubt blessed beyond measure!!
What is the purpose of your blog?
I began blogging as a way to “get on paper” what was on my heart, sharing “snippits” of my life as a child of God, wife, mother, nana and childcare provider, through pictures, music and thought. Although I am not a “writer”, writing has become a way to express creatively the passion I have for Jesus. I am not always serious, sometimes, what my husband calls a “sarcastic wit”, will come out on the pages of my blog. I am also documenting my journey in becoming healthy…not just focusing on a number on the scale but an overall transformation from the inside out! It is this transformation that inspires my journey….led by God!
What are you passionate about?
As I mentioned above, I have a passion for children and sharing the love of Jesus with them. In my desire to do that, I have found that I need to deepen my relationship with God….to live prayerfully and purposefully with Him at the forefront of everything I do. This has been (and continues to be) a challenging, yet rewarding journey and as I search for better understanding, I find myself falling deeper in love with not only my God, but also my husband, my children and the other children that God has placed in my life.
Who or what inspires you?
Music has always been inspirational to me. I also find inspiration in nature and art. To me, all of these have one common thread….creativity! God’s creativity was breathed into this world and has been shared with us in everything from trees to grass, earth to sky, animal to man! Nature is the truest form of creativity and from that man has been able to interpret their God given talents through music….words, melody, instrument and voice and art…painting, drawing, writing, photography and crafts.
What else would you like my readers to know about you?
I am a PK, made a decision for Jesus when I was 8….ran from God in my teenage life right through to adulthood. I have had many failures in life, including a marriage but by the grace and mercy of God I have been given a 2nd chance! I’ve been a passionate follower of Jesus since the fall of 2008 and in July of 2009, Ryan and I were baptized together! We are now attending a fabulous church where we are both involved in ministry with the worship team, I am a vocalist and Ryan looks after the sound. Years ago this isn’t a place I thought I would ever be, however God always has bigger and better plans!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Thanks for sharing! I’m a new follower of hers now!
Thank you Beth!
Such a refreshing place to stop and take a sip of God’s goodness. I hope you don’t mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you. And of course, stopping over to say howdy to Kerri as well.
Be blessed bunches,
Sarah
PS I love IHOP streaming as well 🙂
Splash around as much as you would like. I’ve actually followed your blog for quite a while now, although sad to say I don’t comment as often as I should. Getting better though. Oh I love to find other IHOP lovers. I am blessed to be a part of a local house of prayer, singing and praying continuously. So good for my heart. Thanks for stopping by!

Kerri seems super sweet! I’ll hop over to her place.
Have a blessed day Barbie!
