Today I am linking up with the Gypsy Mama for the 5 Minute Friday on Saturday. This is where we are given a word prompt and write for just 5 minutes. No editing, no worrying about perfection. Just words freely flowing from my heart.
Today’s Prompt: Tired
Tired. Fatigued. Exhausted. I wish I wasn’t, but I am. I seem to be running to try and catch up with my life lately. Burning the oil at both ends — up early, in bed late. I can never seem to get caught up and lately, I have been letting things go. It shouldn’t take that much strength to fold a pile of laundry, but it does, at least for me, so there it sits.
God promises to give strength to the weary heart. When I allow myself to become so tired and fatigued, my body shows the signs — headaches, body aches, and the occasional grumpy heart attitude. Perhaps I am trying to carry the load by myself, forgetting that God stands there, with His hands wide open to receive this load of mine.
So I come, with this weak heart of mine and ask Him once again to pour His strength over me. To show me the path to take. To bring order into my day. To take me by the hand and lead me.
“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” (Jeremiah 31:25)
He is my strength when I am weak. When I am tired and worn out He comes with perfect rest and peace and brings the fuel of His Word and grace abounding for one more day.
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Most importantly: leave a comment for the person who linked up before you – encouraging them in their writing!
