The Weekend Brew: He Calls Me Friend
I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
(John 15:15)
Before Jesus was taken from this earth, He had a long talk with His disciples. He talked to them about remaining in His presence. And He called them friends. That I too can be a friend of God is something that I only have recently began to grasp. It’s easy for me to see Him as Lord, Savior, Deliverer. But friend? That the God of the universe actually cares about me in this way, that He desires to talk with me, to share His heart with me, to listen to me. This is mind boggling at times.
I would love for you to join me for Fresh Brewed Sundays. This is where we share a scripture with just simple insight. No heavy words necessary. Feel free to use the button in your post and link up below!
It is mind boggling! and humbling. and I’m honored and am striving to be a great friend to Him… 🙂

Hi Barbie,
Isn’t it incredible that the Lord wants to spend one-on-one time with each of His children!! We are so blessed!
God bless,
Laura
It’s hard to comprehend that He desires me! Have a blessed Sunday!
so thankful with you Barbie, for this knowing that He calls us friend. And daughter. That we have this kind of access, it’s sometimes beyond comprehension. But I am learning too. Lovely Sunday reflection, appreciate your words.
Thank you my friend. Friendship with the Holy Spirit must be cultivated. I am working on that this year!
