Weekend Whispers

The Weekend Brew: Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

 Teach me, O Lord, to follow your decrees;
then I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding, and I will keep your law
and obey it with all my heart.
Direct me in the path of your commands,
for there I find delight.
Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.
Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life according to your word.
(Psalm 119:33-37)

I am tired of chasing the ways of the world.  Of trying to live my life for anything less than my eternal reward.  This is my prayer, Lord, that You would turn my eyes away from worthless thing.  May all that I do bring praise and glory to Your Name alone.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

I would love for you to join me for Fresh Brewed Sundays.  This is where we share a scripture with just simple insight.  No heavy words necessary.  Feel free to use the button in your post and link up below!
