Today I am so grateful to have Michele-Lyn of A Life Surrendered sharing her heart with you today. I know that you will be blessed and encouraged through her words today.
to raise my voice and not know if anyone was listening.
to raise my voice and not know if anyone cared to hear what I had to say.
to raise my voice and stumble over my words.
to raise my voice that they would hear and hate what I was saying.
to raise my voice and have nothing come out.
to raise my voice and sound like a fool.
And the fear kept me mute. Fear kept me voiceless — in a prison of my own making.
For so long I wandered and wondered weary, “Why is this so hard? Why is womanhood and motherhood seem like such a fight?” Then I realized, the devil is hard at work trying to keep precious daughters of God quiet — disillusioned about their purpose, calling, and worth. For most of my life, I felt that I was of no more value than the dirt on the bottom of your shoe. Cowardly I crouched — wanting to be free, wanting to raise my voice, and not. Not until I began to really come to know and experience for myself the love of Christ, God’s love — the love that drives out all fear.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. (1 John 4:18)
It took a revelation of His love, that I began to find freedom and a bold rising and firm footing, knowing I can stand because He stands for me, knowing He is on my side, knowing He lives to make intercession for me.
Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf. (Hebrews 7:25)
It took me daring to believe…
I am accepted.
I am wonderfully made.
I am cherished.
I am loved fierce.
I am a daughter of — not just any king, but of the KING of KINGS.
My opinion of myself or the opinion of others of me, does not have to become the identity I wear. Instead, I must clothe myself in Christ. (Romans 13:14) I must be established in knowing my worth and my value is not based on my own efforts.
We are to receive His love and acceptance, and find our value based on His finished work of the cross. We are to live out our God given purpose, settled in our identity in Christ. I am walking by His grace, being made whole more and more everyday. More and more my eyes are open to see why the devil works so tirelessly to hold us down, caged, shackled, and mute.
Now, the same truth that liberates me, I want to shout out from the mountain tops.
When we find the freedom in Christ there is no stopping the powerful great work God will do in and through us when we share the truth we have found, that brings healing and liberation to other captive souls. Together we walk, instead of cowering in the dark — the darkness has no hold on us. The darkness must flee as we walk, emanating bright His Light, as daughters of the King of Kings.
Replace the wounding lies. In His grace, by His grace know…
You are wanted.
You are beautiful.
You are chosen.
You are called.
You have gifts.
You have strengths.
You are valuable.
You have a voice.
No one can replace you.
God created you just the way you are.
You are worthwhile and capable.
Your identity is already settle in Christ.
You cannot be separated from His love.
You are forever, His.

Michele-Lyn is a wife to a wonderful man and a homeschooling mama of four beautiful children — three spunky, confident beautiful girls, and one tender-hearted handsome son. When she was 16 and pregnant, Jesus found her — hurt, lost and wandering. He reached out in love she never knew, rescued her from darkness, saved her soul, and healed her broken heart. Since then, she has belonged to Him, and willingly lives — A Life Surrendered. Her blog is an “ongoing narrative of a wife and mama, whose life’s Author is her God.” There she walks out her trials and triumphs by His GRACE and shares stories of how she navigates her way through life in pursuit of God, living to love better. She desires to bring encouragement and hope to weary mamas, and loves sharing the passion and the truths she holds tightly too, in the fight for the family, a most holy and powerful unit the devil seeks to destroy. And everything she does, she knows it is only by His grace.
