Five Minute Friday: Beyond
Today I am joining Lisa-Jo and others for the 5 Minute Friday where we are given a word prompt and write for just 5 minutes simply for the joy of writing. No editing or backtracking necessary. No need to be perfect. Just words freely flowing from my heart to yours.
Today’s Prompt: Beyond
Most days it’s hard for me to look beyond the piles of my life to see the beauty that lies underneath. My home, a place where love, joy and peace are supposed to reside can often be a place of messy disorganization and utter chaos. As a full-time working mom, some days I don’t have the strength to truly see that underneath my messy life is a woman deeply loved and valued, no matter the state of her home.
To look beyond the baskets of overflowing laundry to see that I am a good housekeeper.
To look beyond the constant bickering of my children to see that I am a good mama.
To look beyond the stacks of dirty plates to see that I am a good nourisher.
To look beyond my husband’s tiredness and short temper so see that I am a good wife.
To look beyond the stacks of unpaid bills to see that I am a good steward.
God looks beyond my failures and shortcomings and sees a woman deeply loved and valued. He loves me despite my mess.
I hear your heart in this. It resonates so deep in my soul. I am holding tightly to this truth with you, while letting all else go, by His grace.
“God looks beyond my failures and shortcomings and sees a woman deeply loved and valued.”
Thank you my sweet friend. So thankful to have you on the journey!
So perfect. Such needed truth! Thanks, from a messy girl, too!
Thank you for stopping by Elisa!
Beyond so much. God even uses our failures to take us beyond what we see. Good words!

Hey, how did you get that beach picture of me on your blog? Just kidding. Thanks so much for inspiring me to look beyond all this mess (since there’s quite a bit to look through–just saying’). Have a great weekend!
Is that really you? I bought the picture from Fotolio, but I forgot to link it! Praying we both get unburied soon!
No, maybe it’s not me after all. But I’m sure I must look just like that when I stand out on the beach. Ha!
WOW yes! Kindred spirits, FRIEND! Beautiful! You are beautiful! Love that picture where did you get it from? Love, Traci

Awe, thank you so much Debbie!
Love, love this Barbie. Even though my life dynamics are different than yours at times I fail to see beyond the tasks to see the realization of the ways of God’s faithfulness.
I am learning to look with new eyes. It’s challenging though. Have a beautiful day Wanda.
You are a delight to Him my friend (and to us). I have a hard time staying on top of my chores and I don’t work full-time outside of my home. <3 Bless you!
Abundant blessings back at you my friend!
To look beyond.
I like that, a lot.
Thanks for droping by Chelsea!
Thanks for this precious reminder friend. I need to look beyond and see what God sees, see the positive, and to see what I can be. I hope you’ve recuperated from the wedding. Blessings girl.

AMEN Richelle! Thanks for stopping by!
I found this post so encouraging. I have to remind myself these things, too– that the state of things around me isn’t a reflection of who I am, and that I am deeply loved by God. So lovely!
Oh that’s good. I am not defined by my mess! Have a beautiful day!
