  1. This made me think of a praise song to Isaiah 43 we sang in college. I found it a version of it online, and thought I would share it: Probably gonna have to share it with my blog page. 🙂

I think there is something so tender about thinking about the Lord calling me by name. I think maybe because my name means supplanter that He calls me by a new name, but either way, I am glad He knows me so very intimately.

  2. Beautiful painting! You are so talented!!

God has called me by name and it is a holy, terrifying yet exciting and exhilarating experience. And these verses in the Message say it well
…When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
it won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God, …

Father is always there and when the times are tough and scary we need only to look at Him and call out He will walk us through it all.

  3. Dear Barbie
I am always thrilled when we talk about our Pappa calling us by name for my name means “my own”. Well, the reason is obvious, don’t you think!
    Blessings and love to you

  4. Honestly, I get goosebumps thinking of Him calling me by name. The reality is I believe He calls me by name every day, but most days my ears are too focused on this world to hear Him. If only it were easier to shut out the noise and just tune into the God of the Universe. That’s actually one way I’m trying to grow in my faith, is in quieting my mind to all things but Him. I’ve done it before, but it’s extremely difficult. I’d like to have the self-discipline to do this frequently. I think it would be a wonderful way to spiritually crawl into His lap.

  5. Oh friend…what a great place to camp! When I think about the fact that he thought about me before he created the world, it brings me to my knees. I LOVE these thoughts! Thank you, Barbie!
