The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.
The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.
You open your hand
and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
We’ve been singing Psalm 145 in the Prayer Room a lot. I have been reflecting on the faithfulness of God, especially in times when I do not deserve it. He is so good, so kind, loving and compassionate.
“You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing”.
I can imagine the Creator God holding all of the world, all of His creation, in the palm of His hand. How small I must appear when the eyes of the Lord look down from heaven upon me. Yet He sees me. He knows what I have need of, even before I do.
All I have need of, Your hand has provided.
God holds it all in His hand. Every answer, every provision, every drop of grace to cover my shortcomings. And He opens His hand and offers it all to me, freely, without restraint. Every unmet need, every cry of my heart, every empty place all completely satisfied by Him and Him alone.
