Advent 01 – Waiting — 14 Comments

  1. Barbie,
You hit it right on the nail…just the coming…that is where it all begins…He sees you, my friend, and you are beautiful with His life …been praying for you…((hugs))…it’s funny but my post about the prodigal…it all begins with just coming to the Father, as we are….

  2. Barbie, this was so refreshing for me to read this morning! I have to admit I’ve been totally struggling with burn out and I am realizing how it is due to my tendency to strive for perfection. I love how you said that we need to not wait to come until we are perfect but that it’s is broken hearts that need to be mended! Thank you for your honesty and this beautiful post!

    • That was such a deep revelation to my heart Heather. My heart is broken most days but when I don’t freely offer it to Him, He can’t bring the healing. So I must come, and wait and then do it again and again. Oh how I need Him!

    • Thank you Wanda. I am too much of a perfectionist. I am hoping to slow down this month and really see. Blessings for a beautiful week.

  3. I love this post! I think a lot of times we think about how “Christmas is coming!” but we don’t think as often about coming to Christ…as you said, “We must lay aside our busy lives and our cluttered hearts and come before Him, so that we can receive Him fully”

Thank you for writing this, I will definitely be thinking about what mindset is as we enter into the Christmas season. I want to be preparing to come closer to Him, not just preparing to check off my to-do list.

  4. This is exactly what I hope to do too . . . “lay aside perfectionism and busyness and simply come to Him.”
Hubs and I started reading Ann Voskamp’s book last night so I look forward to following along as you share your thoughts, Barbie. Thank you for your beautiful heart. Much love. xoxo
