The Beautiful God
I’ve asked myself this question over and over again. Is it really possible to behold the beauty of the Lord, this side of heaven? When I read this verse in Psalms, I immediately think of the day when my life on this earth ends, but begins all over again in heaven, with God. There, I will behold His beauty forever.
The Psalmist here is referring to the beauty of the Lord as God possessing all that is desirable.
With my human eye, I see a lot of beautiful things, things that are desirable to me. Yet this type of beauty is fleeting and does not last. Beautiful flowers wilt and die over time. Flawless skin ages over time. Even a beautiful sunrise and sunset only lasts but moments.
The God of the Universe encompasses all that is desirable. In His sinless nature, He is made up of all that is good, pleasing, just, pure, true, righteous — the list goes on. These attributes make up the very essence of God, and thus reflect His beauty. When we strive to pursue all that is desirable by looking towards heaven and seeking after these things, the more we will see His beauty, and the more others shall see God.

A breath of fresh truth and Holy wind – thank you for this, Barbie. “When we strive to pursue all that is desirable by looking towards heaven and seeking after these things, the more we will see His beauty, and the more others shall see God.” This is all I really want. Thank you, friend. Love you.
