Today I’m linking up with Kate and the beautiful community over at the Five Minute Friday. This is where we write for just 5 minutes on a word prompt. No editing or backtracking. No need for perfection. Just words freely flowing from my heart.
I often wonder if I can really make a difference in this world. I imagine myself to be but a speck of dust in the larger scheme of things. But I do believe God brought me to this earth for a purpose.
But am I a world changer?
I don’t believe that I can change the world by myself. But I do believe that I can affect and change one life at a time. When I do my part to encourage, pray for and help those around me and they are changed, in essence I am changing the world.
My purpose in life is to love God and be loved by Him, to know God and be known by Him. But even more importantly, it’s to make God known to those around me.
This world is big, complex and filled with pain and heartache. I may not be able to reach all of it, but I can reach one.
I can bring encouraging words, both spoken and written, to those who need to hear them.
I can offer prayers of healing to those who are hurting, both mentally and physically.
I can pull one into a deep and heartfelt embrace when the world around her is falling apart.
I can intercede, asking for God’s heart, on those big and often scary world issues.
I can share my own journey, messy at times, so others will know they are not alone.

How are you reaching out to change the world around you?
