In just two weeks, school will resume. My girl will begin her sophmore year at the local public high school, and my 7th grade son will begin homeschooling.
There is so much to learn as school resumes – reading, writing, science, all met with new challenges, yet with new hope and possibilities for their futures which await.
[tweetthis]I pray for my children, that they will not only learn academics, but life long lessons. #fmf[/tweetthis]
For my girl, I pray that she will learn that she does not have to conform to the world’s standards in order to be accepted. I pray that she will learn that it’s okay to choose your friends wisely, that you don’t have to accept everyone into your circle. I pray that she will learn that failure is a part of life, but that God has put within her the ability to succeed as she takes His hand and walks with Him. I pray that she will learn that her worth and value is not in who she knows, what she looks like or in the clothes she wears, but that her worth is in GOD, and in Him alone.
For my son, I pray that he will learn that school can be fun. I pray that he will learn that he’s not stupid, as he will often say, but that he is smart and just learns a different way. I pray that he will learn confidence in his abilities and embrace who He is in Christ. I pray that he will learn to pursue his passions. I pray that he will learn that he has much to offer this world, that God has created Him for a greater purpose and destiny.
My children have much to learn this year, but I may be the one that learns the most of all.
