I came across this quote the other day, and it got me thinking. I use to know what my deepest destiny was, or a portion thereof. But then life threw me a curve ball of sorts, and I’ve been asking God what it is He’s called me to do. Besides loving Him and being loved by Him, what is my destiny here on this earth.
Bloom where you are planted.
Even though I feel incredibly dry and vulnerable these days, I choose to believe that God is working behind the scenes, pushing me closer to my destiny. I can’t say that I’ve been very persistent in the pursuit of it though, because I don’t know what “IT” is.
But I’ve been thinking about what He has put in front of me — my family, my friends, my new job, my art, my words. Perhaps I am supposed to persistently pursue these things, and the other will follow. I think sometimes I look too hard for the deeper, bigger “will of God” in my life. Perhaps my destiny is wrapped up in my day-to-day.
It’s how I choose to love God and others.
It’s how I choose to serve my family and others.
It’s how I strive for excellence on the job.
It’s how I allow Him to use my hands to create art, and my words to encourage others.
It’s how He has given me a passion for a community of Jesus-loving women.
Destiny defined is “the events that will happen to a particular person or thing in the future.”
What if instead of being focused on the future so much, I looked right in front of me. I believe that God is weaving my destiny in and through the blessings He’s already given to me.
