Joy To The World // Weekend Whispers — 25 Comments

  1. I feel you have spoken my heart here, Barbie. Such a beautiful reflection of making room in her hearts for Jesus. Digging deeper. Not daring to look. Places l have not opened to nourishment. Yes, I will pray that prayer with you!

  2. Beautiful words here, Barbie! I’ve been a roller coaster of emotions this season. This weekend we attended an amazing Christmas presentation at a large church in the valley. It’s a tradition for our family that I love, however this year was extra special. Our daughter is so much healthier this year. She giggled and sang and danced the entire night for the first time in the 4 1/2 years she has been home with us. I was so grateful and filled with joy for God’s work in her that tears kept bubbling over – the joyful kind! On the other hand, I’ve been dealing with some significant health issues, so the tears would then bubble over in frustration. Tears of joy and tears of sadness back to back throughout the season! I’m a mess, huh?! I’m keeping my eyes on Jesus, though, and asking Him into those sad and musty areas 🙂
    Blessings and smiles,
    Lori

  3. Hello, Barbie! This is my first time linking up with his beautiful community. Thank you for providing this for all of us.
Just loved your profound and poetic thoughts. We all have a lot of sweeping to do upon the floor of our hearts. Christ is waiting, ready to embrace us as we do.
    You have a lovely evening.

  4. Beautiful prayer and reflective thoughts. This really spoke to me on a day when my heart feels distinctly cluttered and full of earthly concerns. Thank you for such a timely reminder, Barbie! Blessings of peace and joy to you.

  5. Barbie, this year I am finding Him in a simple Advent devotional I am doing. The familiar Scriptures are falling so fresh as I ask Him each morning to delight me in His Word. Wonderful post! Blessings to you & yours today!

  6. Beautiful words, Barbie. Ones I needed to read today. Thank you. Why do I complicate life? Your prayer blessed me so. Praying for you this evening. May your Advent season be filled with His presence, peace and love. Bless you, friend.

  7. I appreciate your vulnerable and wise words about the room we need to make in our hearts for the Lord, Barbie. Ironically, it’s easy to let Him get squeezed out by all the Christmas preparations and distractions! Thanks so much for the linkup, my friend! Enjoy your weekend!

  8. Oh, I love the clutter quote , Barbie. I love that He leads me through the clutter and pulls me closer to Him, as I allow myself to be led. May we submit to Him this season and experience His peace that displaces our clutter! Love and Happy weekend whispers to you! So been bad about keeping up with links…and all. BUT, sending Christmas Cheer!

    • Dawn, I miss you! I have been horrible at keeping up with blogs. My head is spinning. But yes, Christmas cheer, thank you. Sending some back to you!
