Embrace Day 10 // Five Minute Free Writes “Unknown” {Glimpses Link Up} — 26 Comments

  1. Thank you, Barbie, for sharing your post on “unknown”; mine has been written and is on paper next to my computer. I do not know what my future holds, but I DO know WHO holds that future…it is not unknown to Him!!

Since this is actually the 11th, and I am trying to do some reading, I really need to write today’s post. But, I’ll get to it before heading to bed and maybe work ahead to tomorrows!!

Thanks again for the “blog” help…I think I’m just going to create a NEW one…

  2. “We may not know what our future holds, but we can be assured that if we take His hand and allow Him to lead us into the unknown, everything will be okay.” Thank you for this encouragement today, Barbie. It’s hard to trust sometimes, but as you say in another place, it’s in those seasons where we think the sun will never rise again, it’s then we need to turn our faces towards the “warmth of His gaze.” Oh, how we need that! I am loving your series, even though I don’t comment each time. Also your glimpses. 🙂 Blessings and hugs to you!

  3. It is so comforting being known. I realized how much I craved it recently when I changed churches. Being in community where people are intentional about getting to know you is exactly what I needed. Thank you for the blessing of your words.

    • Thanks for stopping by Mary. I am so far behind reading my favorite blogs (again). I’m going to stop over to your place soon. Your words are beautiful.

  4. I love #134 and 135! You go girl! I’m cheering you on! I just finished a new eating journey, and am continuing with good habits and feel great! So worth it!

    • I’m hitting the 12 day slump here. I’m bored with my food and not enough time or energy to go shopping. Please continue to pray me through!

  5. “We serve an unseen God, but He has not failed to make His presence known in every aspect of our lives. We are not unknown to Him.” He is always with us and knows our every need. I’m so glad He has the future in His hands.

    Blessings to you, Barbie!

  6. These words are so helpful: “When we walk through seasons where we fear the sun may never rise again, its then that we must turn our face toward the warmth of His gaze” and a beautiful reminder that God always has His loving, watchful eye on us. Thank you for this encouraging word! Bless you, Barbie. xo

  7. I love this… it is pretty much the theme of my 31 Days! 😉 Because “Life Happens” to all of us and our first reaction should always be to pray! I remember hearing someone say that if it hasn’t worked out for your good yet, then it’s not over!

    Love you, friend!

  8. I don’t like unknown journeys. It goes against my quest to “know.” But I want it to be enough to be known…by God…who knows all! He is indeed the perfect guide. Thanks for this today, Barbie.

  9. Barbie,
Praying for you to be able to keep on the healthy eating food journey….I have had to learn the hard way that God wants us to take care of His temple. Also, every time I hold His hand and venture into the unknown with Him, my confidence and trust in Him goes. He IS faithful. Keep up the good work!

    • Thanks so much Jamie. I was afraid I’d bore everyone to death with all of the photos, but it’s truly turning out to be inspiration to many. Thanks for stopping by!

  10. Isaiah talks about hearing a voice behind us telling us that we are on the way, and I wish it was audible to me. I confess that often I want sky writing from God, when what He offers to me is a relationship and a path of knowing Him and learning His ways.

    • It’s hard isn’t it? We want to read God like we do a road map, yet He just asks us to trust Him. Have a beautiful week Michele.
