Embrace Day 12 // Five Minute Free Write “Sky”
When I was a little girl, I use to love to lay out on the grass and look up at the sky. I would allow my mind to wander and create images in the sky from the clouds. Dogs, butterflies, ice cream cones, horses — these were just some of the images I would create.
If I closed my eyes for too long, the images I created seemed to disappear as the clouds’ format changed, and they moved and scattered throughout the sky.
Just as the sky changes and the images we create in our minds of how things should be, our lives can change, in an instant. Sometimes it’s for the good. Often, there are painful experiences we have to walk through.
But the clouds in the sky remind us that things change. Those painful circumstances will get better. It may not always look like you want it to. But God will always be by your side. He is faithful.
Your lovingkindness, O LORD, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. (Psalm 36:5)
The next time you feel stuck in a not so comfortable place, look up to the clouds in the sky and be reminded that everything changes in due time.
This post is part of a 31 Day series entitled Embrace, where I will be sharing images, quotes and words that I hope will stir your soul. You can find each post in this series here. Together, let’s embrace every day and the beauty that each one holds.
What a good point. Things are always changing. I love that we have a God who we can trust during the hard times and we can see His goodness through the nature he created.
He’s such a good Father! Thanks for stopping by Amanda!
I, too, love looking at the clouds, Barbie. They are constantly changing and moving. We also are changing and moving, but God is always the same. We can rest in Him no matter what the difficulty and know that He’s got it.
He is the only Constant in our lives. Have a blessed tomorrow Gayle!
