Change. It’s either a welcome visitor in our lives, or a dreaded one. I’ve experienced my fair share of hard seasons of change, but I wouldn’t trade any of them. I’ve grown so much in my faith and reliance on the Lord during those seasons. But this was not always the case.
Change comes in an instant. It comes and pulls the rug right out from underneath your feet, where you once stood on solid ground. It comes and takes your breath away and all you can do is wait for the air to leave your lungs and fill back up again. You hold on, to that which once was, fearing what life would be like without. You let go, fearing it may never return.
Change requires movement, and moving is not always easy, especially when the movement leads us away from what we thought was good. In my stubbornness I’ve wanted to plant my feet firmly on familiar ground and stay, all the while ignoring the increase of my beating heart that beckoned me out, to plunge head first into the darkness, or so it seemed, into the unknown. Change requires movement. Movement requires faith.Change requires movement. Movement requires faith. #write31days #FMFW #glimpsesofhisbeauty Click To Tweet
There is this dance that takes place when we allow God to move us.
It’s a dance of letting go to release, and reaching out to embrace.
It’s a dance of accepting what was, and stepping into what could be.
It’s a dance of an aching heart of surrender, and the beating heart of anticipation.
Change will come, and God will call you to move. When it does, will you enter the dance?
This post is part of a 31 Day series entitled Embrace, where I will be sharing images, quotes and words that I hope will stir your soul. You can find each post in this series here. Together, let’s embrace every day and the beauty that each one holds.
