I have always desired to paint well. But I wasn’t born with a natural born talent of putting color together and creating something beautiful. When I was a child, I loved to get my fingers wet with reds, blues and purples and streak color across a blank page. Even as a young one, my art was mostly abstract.
Having taken up painting as an adult, I mostly lacked the confidence I needed to do better. It’s not that anyone ever told me I couldn’t paint. I just didn’t have the skill of my peers and often felt inferior. I was my own worse critic. But God, the Master Artist, was my constant teacher, joining me in the arts as I painted for His glory on stage during worship services. And just as a child, I put aside the brushes and got my fingers wet with colors and streaked them across a blank canvas to create art that encouraged others and conveyed God’s heart.
I don’t paint much anymore, but the Master Artist is still by my side calling me to come forth and create. He paints the sky from a blank canvas so beautifully. I am not sure what He’s calling me to create in this season, but I do now that I long to make something beautiful out of my life. The Master Artist is by my side calling me to come forth and create. #write31days Click To Tweet
