Embrace Day 25 // Five Minute Free Write “Sign” {Glimpses Link Up}
Thank you for visiting the Glimpses link up! I am still writing my October series. I got behind and instead of quitting I’m going to keep going. I hope you find these posts encouraging. I am so glad you are here!
No one likes to appear weak. It’s not like I want to portray that I have it all together and know the answers to all of life’s challenges. I don’t. And I certainly don’t want to come across as if I’ve arrived at this place of perfection that is only attained after our lives here have ended.
I use to cringe every time someone asked me about something that I didn’t know the answer to because not having the answer was a sign of weakness, or so I thought. I especially felt this way when my children would ask me things that I had no idea how to respond.
But I’m learning that to not have the answer is not a sign of weakness, but one of strength. It takes a certain strength to respond with, “I’m not really sure how to answer that, but I will find out and get back to you.” I’ve had to do this in my job. And my clients appreciate this so much more than if I were to provide a wishy washy answer or a half truth.
In this life, we will never have the answer for every situation. In those times we have to swallow our pride and lean on God’s strength. It may appear to others as a sign of weakness but really, we grow stronger when we allow the wisdom of God to provide the answers to life’s questions.
We grow stronger when we allow the wisdom of God to provide the answers to life's questions. #write31days #FMFW #glimpsesofhisbeauty Click To TweetAnd now I continue to list the beauty that I’m finding in my every day life.

How has a perceived weakness in your life become a sign of strength?
This post is part of a 31 Day series entitled Embrace, where I will be sharing images, quotes and words that I hope will stir your soul. You can find each post in this series here. Together, let’s embrace every day and the beauty that each one holds.
The Glimpses link up will open at 12:01 AM (PST) each Monday, and will remain open through Noon on Saturday. My hope is that those who were linking up on Saturday over the weekend will still have an opportunity to do so.
I am looking forward to reading your posts and visiting your blogs this week!
It is time to share the glimpses of beauty found this week.

Thank you for being so honest, Barbie. It’s your openness of not having it all together that actually draws me here. It makes us feel like we’re not the only ones. As long as we think we have all the answers, we won’t need God’s wisdom to guide us, right? I love all your graphics with the meaningful messages on them. 🙂 Blessings and hugs to you!
I love having you here Trudy. You are such a blessing.
Ok, first of all, I want to tell you AGAIN that I’m so proud of you for getting through your first Whole 30 AND you lost 9lbs. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! 🙂 And also very proud of you for continuing to write and finish up your 31 days series from October. It doesn’t matter how long it takes to accomplish a goal, just that we keep working toward it. You go girl! 🙂
Thank you Nicki. You’ve been such a huge support to me on this journey. I’ve gained a pound back but I’m contending for health. Thankful to have you along here. Blessings!
Love this Barbie. Maybe I’ll stop cringing now.
Thanks for stopping by Debbie!
Barbie, I love your refreshing honesty and openness. In revealing your ‘not-got-it-all-together’ disposition you give us reason to exhale slow and rejoice as we exclaim with relief, “You too?!” My myriad physical health challenges are a perceived weakness which God is now using as a form of ministry to others. I write as He energises and inspires me, and share life in a way that others can relate to. By being a voice for the weak, wounded, broken and marginalised, I sense some inner resilience and strength in the surrender and yielding to God’s work in me. Bless you for being beautiful YOU! And for these gorgeous grace gift reminders and lovely images to feast on. xo
Thanks so much Joy. I often focus on what I see on social media, where everyone (for the most part) appears to have it all together. It’s refreshing to come across someone who doesn’t and is willing to admit that. I know that I need Jesus. He makes me look good. Always blessed by your visits.
Your words are wonderful, but I must admit, I’m in awe of the visual images you share on your blog with every post. So lovely and well done. My learning curve here is nearly vertical!
Thank you Michele. I don’t take many photos so I use license free images found on the internet and have finally gotten to the point where I can make them look pretty good in PicMonkey. It takes time to learn but it’s really easy. Have a blessed week.
