I don’t like confrontation. Matter of fact, I do everything in my power can to avoid it. Whether it be a work situation, or a disagreement with a friend, I am usually the one to cower down and just give in, or up.
But over the last month or so I’ve had to do some very deep confronting of situations in my own life. What I was forced to look at isn’t pretty. Matter of fact, I wanted to turn and run the other way. But you see, God loves me too much to leave me in my mess, so He’s helping me conquer my fears and giving me courage every day to face the hard stuff. I know that I will come through the other side better and stronger. You cannot change what you are unwilling to confront. #write31days #FMFW #glimpsesofhisbeauty Click To Tweet
What I’ve learned along the way is this: I’m a lot stronger than I ever thought I was.
I am conquering my weight issues through making healthier choices and it’s been paying off. Even though I’ve slipped a bit this last week, it’s opened my eyes to how many toxins were living inside my body.
I’m facing the demons of my past and present and working through healing my mind and soul. Who wants to look at their past, especially when it brings up pain? But sometimes we need to look at it, pray through it, renounce and release so that we can move forward.
I’m confronting my depression by forcing myself to get in His Word and surround myself with worship. Even though I’d rather sit on the couch all day eating Bon Bons and watching Netflix, I know that God has so much for me. He desires that I move into a place of utter joy in His presence. Even though the depression is real, my God is so much bigger.
It’s never easy to confront the hard stuff in our lives. But God will continually give us courage to face our fears and give us the strength to confront them head on.
After all, I’d rather live a full and free life, than one bogged down by sin and shame. You?
