Reflecting On His Love // Glimpses Link Up — 20 Comments

  1. This is so beautiful, Barbie. His unconditional love boggles my mind, too. The different scenarios you list touch my heart. Thank you so much for reminding me that He loved us even in those times when we were violated. It’s all so hard to understand, but it was the evil in others that hurt us, not God. I used to think if He loved me then, He would have stopped it. But yet it’s those things that have made us more compassionate and understanding towards others who are hurting, right? Yes, no matter what, no matter when, He loved us, still loves us, and will love us to the end! Blessings and hugs to you!

P.S. I feel kind of dumb, but I had to look up what EP means. Congratulations to your son! 🙂

    • I am so sorry this happened to you Trudy. I am thankful that our past does not define us. So comforting knowing that God loves us, no matter. what. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I can never get enough of knowing and being reminded that God loves me. Even in all the messiness and with all my mistakes His love never fails. Such a beautiful thing to know during this Advent season.

  3. Love is a powerful word. To decide to love us with all our sin is an awesome thing. Many people don’t feel love, understand love, can express love or even value love. But God’s love is shown through so many people, things and experiences that if we took the time to look for His expressions of love we would be in awe. Thanks for the reminder.

  4. Beautiful words today friend! I hope you had fun decorating your Christmas tree this weekend. Impressed that you chopped it down yourself. You words are beautiful today. So glad you are writing! This particular sentence ripped at my soul: “When I lay numb, violated and was left feeling worthless and dirty, He loved me.” Oh yes girl, He loved you then, especially then. My eyes cry tears for you this am sweet Barbie. Tears of sadness for what you must have endured and tears of joy for how much Jesus loves you! Praying you are well sweet lady. xoxo

    • Thank you Nicki. That was so long ago, yet if I allow myself to go there I can reflect too much. I wrote about my date rape experience on another blog. Couldn’t bring myself to share it on my own. You are a blessing to me. Thank you for being here.

  5. Barbie,
God’s unfathomable love for us IS hard to completely grasp sometimes…but it’s the real deal! Praise! I had to smile over “Hallmark Movies”. So predictable, but always with a happy ending….I love happy endings. Thankfully, since Jesus came, our lives will have a happy ending as well!
    Blessings this Advent season,
