Where Joy Resides // Glimpses Link Up — 20 Comments

  1. I loved these glimpses and can relate to a lot of what you wrote here. Finding joy in our daily life is something we should all focus on; because sometimes while it may seem to elude us, it is truly found in the simple things. Blessings to you dear friend.

  2. Joy always comes for me with #223! It’s hard to hold onto joy sometimes, especially when we’re extra busy, overtired or stressed. Preparing for Christmas tends to include all of those things. I love your deliberation to seek joy in daily comforts, family times and sensing love surrounding you. May peace and joy become hallmarks of the week ahead, as you yield to deeper rest. Bless you, Barbie, for keeping it real and bringing joy out of adversity. Praying for you, friend. xo

  3. The enemy would like nothing more than to steal our joy. I know he has been trying to do that with me. Thank you for pointing us back to joy. When we continue to worship God, we take away the enemy’s ability to pull us away. Blessings!

  4. I love how you show us that joy is ours for the taking, we just need to get our minds focused on what truly matters in the middle of the chaos, Jesus, and He will bring joy to even the direst of circumstances. I know this year has been a tough one for you Barbie. Praying that the Lord will give you more glimpses of His work in your circumstances in the coming year! xoxo

  5. Satan is a joy stealer. It can be soooooooo hard to stay focused on God… but He’s bigger than anything that would attempt to hold us back from the joy He wants us to experience in our lives. Keeping you in prayer each day, my friend. (And fresh homemade cookies sound deeeeeeliscious! 🙂 Yum! )

  6. Yes—this is it, Barbie: “I came to give Him praise. I came to declare His worth, because He is worthy.” My emotions don’t always match, but I know that these truths are what’s real!
#230 speaks to me: I bought a new electric blanket this winter and I’m loving it. 🙂

    • Sometimes it’s a fight to give Him that sacrifice of praise, but then it wouldn’t be a sacrifice then would it? I love warm blankets. It’s cold here, although I’m spoiled living in California.

    • The rest is so hard, but I’m learning it’s okay to do nothing…and I’m learning to be okay with it. Blessings to you my beautiful friend!
