  1. I love this statement: “He doesn’t weigh your need against mine and decide who gets the miracle.” How often have we heard someone put God in a box, with the idea that He isn’t big enough or strong enough or caring enough to help billions of people all at the same time? And, truth be told, how often have we been that person of little faith? Our feeble minds cannot even begin to fathom how vast are the thoughts of God in the here and now and in the perfect carrying out of His perfect plans for so many people.
“How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.
When I awake, I am still with You.” Psalm 139:17,18 NASB

  2. Barbie, it helps me to remember it’s not the size of our miracle that matters but the size of our God. I believe those seemingly small answers to prayer are no less a miracle than the huge, amazing, inspiring, obvious ones. May you rest in His all-sufficiency for your every need, His tremendous love for you and your family and His heart’s desire to comfort, encourage bless you and answer your prayers, even when it might not look like you imagined it might be. God is faithful. Your words (and the lovely song you shared) have encouraged me to believe for better in our own intractable situations. Thank you, friend! xo <3

  3. Yes I believe. Our series at church right now is The God of Miracles. I love this —->I am thankful for a God who doesn’t draw names out of hat to decide who to bless. Rather, it’s all about His timing. I ma holding onto that truth in my own life.

  4. Oh, that sounds like a powerful CD. I love Kari Jobe’s music. This is so true: “It’s one thing to talk about miracles and even believe that God did what the Bible says He did, but it’s another thing completely to believe that the God of miracles wants to perform miracles on our own behalf.” I claim that for myself as well. Thanks for your vulnerability here, Barbie. Praying for each of us to trust Him in deeper and deeper ways.

  5. You have encouraged my heart, Barbie. With this message and Kari Jobe’s song. Thank you! I pray God will give you His all-sufficient grace for each day! Love and hugs!

  6. Amen! It’s not about God answering my prayers the way I want them answered, it’s about asking him to teach me how to pray for what his heart is in the matter (which is a much more difficult prayer–but one he will always answer).

    • Oh yes, so true. Even though we know God’s ways are best, it is hard to voice that prayer at times. Thanks for stopping by Anita!

  7. Believing with you for the miracles you are praying for! Body, Mind, Soul… wholeness and healing in every area of need! Love you, friend! (And yes… LOVE this song!) xoxo

  8. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song Barbie. At different seasons I find that I have certain songs on constant repeat because they really minister to me.

  9. Lord, please touch my friend. Barbie. Refresh her mind and her soul with a deep and knowing love from Your right hand. Help her to be calm in the waiting for her perfect miracle and to embrace the blessings that come each and every day. In Jesus name, Amen.

  10. Yes, He always answers. I’ve been reminded lately that our time in the wilderness isn’t isolation from God, but, rather isolation TO God in which some of the distractions that woo us away from Him are stripped away and we run to Him with our need.

  11. Great song! I agree, it is sometimes easier to believe that God will do miracles for others than for ourselves, especially if we find ourselves waiting a long time. I wrote about this too today.
So true that it comes down to trusting God even when we don’t understand.
