My 5 Minute Fridays

Complete // Five Minute Friday

The dictionary defines complete as “to make whole or perfect” or to “finish making or doing”.

Without Christ, I am not complete.  He who began a good work in me is faithful to complete it.

Sometimes I get impatient.  I want to know what the end of the story is, but I’m still living it out. I look at my lack, at my imperfections and shortcomings and in doing so, I feel hallow and unfulfilled. It is then when I realize how incomplete I feel when I focus on myself or my circumstances rather than on Christ.

It’s hard to understand that I am still a work in progress. Although I’ve walked this earth for over 50 years, a little more than half of those with the Lord, there is still so much I have to learn. In this season of drought and longing, I wish that I could say that I’ve only looked to the Lord for comfort and fulfillment, but I haven’t always.  Yet, He has always been and will always remain by my side.

He has always been and will always remain by my side. #fiveminutefriday Click To Tweet

Without Christ I can do nothing, and without Christ I remain incomplete.  Even though I have some time to go before Christ perfects His work in me, I can live every day fulfilled and whole because He is with me.

Blessed to join the beautiful Five Minute Friday community.  We write for just 5 minutes on a word prompt. This week’s prompt is “complete”.  Come join us!

So good to see you again, Barbie! Jesus is our complete. Even when we feel incomplete, and wander around, we can know that he will guide our steps even if we don’t understand the end game.
