Things I’ve Pondered On The Journey
Before I made the decision to get serious about losing weight and getting healthy, there were many things that caused me to stop and ponder. I thought long and hard about where I was currently (weight, health – both emotional and physical) and came to a decision that the pros far outweighed the cons. I can’t think of any negative aspects of losing weight and getting healthy.
Here are some of the things I pondered that I am either dealing with now or could be as a result of living life overweight and unhealthy:
Constant pain.
Risk of heart attack or stroke.
Risk of diabetes.
Not loving myself in the mirror.
Shortness of breath.
Not able to enjoy physical activity.
After pondering all of the negative aspects of holding on to the weight, I began to ponder the things I can look forward to after losing weight and getting healthy.
Shopping at any store (no more PLUS size!).
Enjoying playing with my grand kids on the floor.
Walking without pain.
Living long enough to see all of my grandchildren and great grandchildren born.
Loving who I see in the mirror.
