I pondered the Five Minute Friday word for this week. Anniversary. I could easily write about my upcoming 30 year wedding anniversary trip with my husband to San Diego, which is coming up next weekend, but I think I’ll save that for another post.
This July I quietly celebrated 10 years of blogging. If you’ve been blogging for as long as I have you know that 10 years is quite a feat. So many have given up before they reach this milestone. It doesn’t seem like 10 years to me as I haven’t been writing hardly at all over the last couple. But I’m still here which speaks of my commitment and love for this little community that I am blessed to be a part of.I'm still here which speaks of my commitment and love for this little community that I am blessed to be a part of. #fiveminutefriday Click To Tweet
I started my blog on Blogger 10 years ago. Not knowing what I was doing or who to follow I found like-minded blogs by hitting “next blog” at the top of the Blogger dashboard. It was important to me to build a community around me if I was going to do this, and so I would participate in weekly link ups and made sure to leave comments on blogs and respond to those left on mine.
Over the years, it’s gotten harder to keep up. Life gets in the way and I’ve gone through seasons of loss and lack and hard places where there are no words. But through it all I have found the richness of community, lasting friendships with people I most likely will never meet, and so much love and acceptance.
Happy Anniversary to my little blog. I am thankful I’ve stuck with it and I’m not ready to quit just yet.
How about you? What type of anniversary are you celebrating?
Blessed to be linking up with the beautiful Five Minute Friday writers on the word prompt, “Anniversary”.
