Five Minute Friday: Remember — 45 Comments

  1. “His nearness, His very presence, is my good.” You, my friend, make me smile. You remind me of His hope. His Spirit in you turns my heart to Him. Thank you. xo

  2. You and your stunning and beautiful heart….so grateful for God’s goodness in His unconditional undeserved love, and for my patient husband, and when our girl giggles…blessings to you, my friend…continuing to pray for you 🙂

  3. This is beautiful. I had the opportunity to sing Sunday, which was a treat after being away from leading worship for a year. We sang, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Such power there!! I hope you’re praying about Guatemala and seeing God’s goodness there. It’s overwhelming.

  4. I spotted your icon on the links for 5 Min Fri and realized you’re the same Barbie who visited and commented on my blog. Thanks. (there wasn’t a link to your blog in the comment).

In this world today, especially today – with all the mind games (through games, special effects, fast fast fast text, speaking, and so forth) – we forget the goodness of God. His grace and mercy abounds in this world, especially today – if we take it in our hearts and lives.

    Thanks for reminding me!

    • Jenn, thanks for stopping by. I comment on your blog with a different account. I never remember to change accounts when I reply. 🙂

  5. Oh my friend… you are counting on! I love this! Such a CHOICE! To remember… to stir up… to hope… bless you sweet Barbie! (Now – go write those gifts down! I just reached #1000 yesterday… was a bit happy/sad about it! I am starting back at 1 today… and guess what? You are on my list!)

    • I didn’t even realize I was counting! Yes, you are right, I must begin to record them again. Beautiful words over at your place today!

  6. “Into unknown territory I will go, but I know that He is right there, surrounding me with His goodness, allowing me to see His beauty among the thorns and thistles of life.”

LOVE. THIS. Wrote on something similar today. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  7. Oh, what a great reminder for me this morning…to remember the goodness of my Father. I just finished the rough draft of my book…it’s five years of remembering and reflecting on the goodness of God in both the good and the bad. He’s always Good even on the hardest of days. Thank you for this beautiful post today, sweet friend! Many blessings! 🙂

  8. “And when my heart is weary, when I lack the faith to believe He would do what He said He would do, I pull myself up and choose to walk forward.” These words embedded on my heart today! Thank you Barbie. I gave you a shout out on my blog post today. I have come to love reading your blog.

  9. I love how He called both of us to remember Him today. You are precious, barbie. Wish we could grab some coffee sometime.

Today, I remember His faithfulness to bring us through Craig’s porn addiction. And I remember His faithfulness in this very moment, as we type out our story.

    • Oh Jen, I am praying for the day when we might meet! I will be praying for you as you write your story. Oh look what the Lord has done! So much more than we could ever hope or imagine. He is good!

  10. So good! Yes, I think that it is a choice and sometimes in life I may have to dig a little deeper, but we serve a perfect God and so there is ALWAYS good to be had AND He is ALWAYS good.
Visiting from Lisa-Jo Baker and I have seen you from when Jenn from Running this thing Called Life has linked-up. So glad I stopped by.
    Be blessed:)

  11. Beautiful as always. The goodness of the Lord is that after a long Fall/Winter of trials and struggling , the day after my Birthday (Feb.28) this year one of my dreams came to fruition. I didn’t plan it, I didn’t really do anything , it was a complete surprise out of nowhere. Only God can do that!

  12. The goodness of the Lord! My kids were grumbling about the gratitude journals that I “make” them write . . . so I showed them mine . . . I have never seen such big smiles–in my few words they knew exactly what we did or who I was grateful for . . .

    Be Blessed.
Joyful Mom–in everything give thanks. (coming over from FMF)
