I am so excited to introduce you to this month’s featured blog,
Laura is one of my best friends. I admire her creativity and her desire to see the Lord move through her. She is a worshiper, painter and photographer and inspires me to see beauty in life everywhere I look. Her artwork will instantly connect you with the heart of God!
I asked Laura a few questions so you could get to know her better:
What is the purpose of your blog?
First, the blog was a way for me to express the emotions I was feeling along with some of my photography. The very beginning of my blog was a time of upheaval and loss for me, a loss of a tremendously wonderful spiritual home. This was a time of searching for a new spiritual home and a place for myself in the kingdom. The talents and giftings of an artistic nature were awakened in me while at my former spiritual home, and I wanted to share these prophetic art pieces with the world because I believe that they can open up heavenly atmospheres and encounters with God for others. I then continued to create with God new prophetic art pieces that needed a home to be viewed…my blog. Some of the posts are of a photographic nature while most are paintings, and all are accompanied by a short musing on the subject of the art and my insight into what God is showing me through it. Sometimes it is very powerful and sometimes it is quiet and tender.
What are you passionate about?
I, of course, am passionate about creating with God and using the skill He gave me to paint or photograph beauty – as I see it and comprehend it. I am passionate about worship music and prophetic worship – freedom in the spirit gives me the most inspiration to create. I love to paint while listening to this music, and many times a certain lyric will give me insight into what I am painting and become a title.
Who inspires you?
More than anything or anyone the Holy Spirit is my inspiration. My Father God is my comfort and inspiration and the Messiah Jesus is my peace and the one who understands my soul. Sometimes I feel so alone, a feeling of suffering in silence, or a bout with self pity – and the Lord is the only One who I can talk to and who understands me and still loves me despite my weakness or unfaithfulness.
What else would you like my readers to know?
My best friend Barbie has really been a motivating factor in getting my blog up and running…she saw the need in me and believed that what the Lord was creating through me was valuable and inspiring to others. Without her I would have never made this blog (thank you Barbie), and my friend Gina has gone out of her way to promote my blog as well and has been inspirational in my creating an Etsy shop so that others could purchase my art and photography. I desire more than anything else that when you view my art that it would inspire you, move you, create encounters with God for you, open up peaceful and heavenly realms over you, and release the atmosphere of the very throne room of Heaven in your life….that would be what my art was created for… and a meaningful, fulfilling purpose for my existence.
