My beautiful mama is now safely in the arms of Jes My beautiful mama is now safely in the arms of Jesus. She fought hard with lung cancer and dementia over the last few years. I am so very thankful that her mind was strong at the end and she knew she was surrounded by her kids, her grandkids, my father and all who loved her. She is one of the most lovable and selfless woman that I know and she’s going to be missed tremendously. There is an ache in my heart that I cannot describe and the grief comes in waves, but I know I will see her again. I love you mama. Thank you for shaping my life and helping me become the woman that I am today.
32 years with this man today. I can’t say that m 32 years with this man today. I can’t say that marriage has been an easy road, we’ve had our ups and downs. But We are committed to one another and love one another deeply. So thankful for this man, his gentle spirit and the way he works so hard to provide for his family. Tonight we will celebrate with steak and lobster and possibly a movie.

My beautiful @kaylieswi and her beloved @devinisaiahlee Although it will not be the wedding we had planned, it will be a beautiful wedding where they will be surrounded by family and their most treasured friends. The smile on her face and the joy she exudes makes this mama’s heart skip a beat. My hair has always been relatively healthy. Up unt My hair has always been relatively healthy. Up until about five months ago I had short hair, no longer than the nap of my neck. However right before Covid hit I decided to start growing out my hair and it’s not been an easy task. My hair is dry and dull, lacks shine and now that I’m using more heat products on my hair it’s really taking a toll. My niece introduced me to the @monatofficial products and I’m so excited to give them a try. I especially love that they are naturally-based and #leapingbunny approved. Stay tuned.

My heart has been aching for the rhythm of writing My heart has been aching for the rhythm of writing once again. Somewhere along the way, after nearly 10 years of consistent writing, I lost my way. It was easier to stop trying and just let my blog go dormant. About six months ago my dear friend @heather_mertens redesigned my blog and I was hoping to begin the journey of writing once again. But life has a way of getting complicated at times and so the blog continues to sit. I started posting about my weight loss journey there not too long ago but then got derailed with the current state of the world and I even have to begin again in that regard. But even so, the desire to share tidbits of my life, both the joys and sorrows, and somehow encourage others along the way is still present. So here I am. I decided to start this new Instagram feed as a way to share my journey without imposing expectations on myself to write on the blog, at least for now. I’m not sure where this journey will lead me but I hope you will join me as I find my footing once again.
