Rest

Day11_Rest

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
(Psalm 23:1-3 ESV)

Rest.  It’s something we all need. When you are on the verge of burnout and your body begins so show signs of wear, that is one way the Lord reminds us that we must rest.  But, if you are like me, rest does not come easy. I like to keep myself busy, for the most part, to avoid thinking too hard about my circumstances. Even when I sit still to read or pray, I am in a constant battle to quiet

Care

Day10_Care

Today was a hard day. It started out good, but then an unexpected financial situation came up which threw me for a loop, and I tail spun into anxiety and fear, and I wondered where God was in the midst of all of this change.

You see, in my weakness, I can easily fall into the sin of not recognizing that He is the Ever-Present God, the One who said He would never leave me.  When my flesh fights against feelings of loneliness, fear and anxiety, my brain automatically tells me that God is not in the situation. In my weakness, I believe the lie that says He is not moving on my behalf,

I never thought in a million years that I would join the ranks of the unemployed.  But then again, I remember telling my children when their father first was laid off that we are all just a pay check away

 Go / Say

Days7&8_Go_Say

I’ve been thinking about this post all day, and have drawn a blank.  I could not figure out how to tie them together.  And then, the Lord brought to my mind this song by Kim Walker-Smith of Jesus Culture and I thought perhaps I’d just share it here and call it a day.

No matter where the Lord takes me next, I want to be in His will.  I want to go where He goes, and say what He says.  I pray that my feet would only walk the path that He has set out for me, and that my words would be filled with grace and love.

I hope that you enjoy this song!
