In God Alone

In just a couple of days, we will be casting our vote in the Presidential election.  My heart has been broken as I’ve heard and seen all of the dishonor concerning the candidates and the issues surrounding this election.  Not only are people dishonoring the men who have been appointed for such a time as this, but they are dishonoring one another with their constant bashing back and forth of the issues.  We must remember to bless with our words and not curse.

Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.
(Psalm 141:3)

Pray For Our Leaders

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”  (Psalm 91:2)

Today is The National Day of Prayer.  It is a day set aside for corporate united prayer for the leaders of our nation.  It doesn’t matter whether you agree with the decisions that the current administration is making or has made in the past.  The truth is, God has called us to pray for those in authority over us.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good,
