Introducing…Eli Christopher! // Thankful Thursday

I’m excited to say that I’ve entered a  new era in my journey with the Lord.

I’ve become a Nana!

My oldest daughter,  Alyssa, and her husband, Anthony, welcomed Eli Christopher to the world on Saturday, April 18th. He is just perfect and my heart is bursting with joy over his life. Call me biased, but have you ever seen a more perfect and beautiful baby?

I cannot believe that this precious treasure will be a month old already this coming Saturday.

I am grateful to God for Eli’s safe arrival into this world, and for His hand of protection over Alyssa during her pregnancy and labor.

I am thankful for the opportunity to share my gratitude posts on my blog once again. I started, and stopped, and started and stopped again.  If there is one thing I’ve realized walking through various seasons of life, it’s this:  [tweetthis]There is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.[/tweetthis] So I’m going to come here, every week or two and share one, two or several things that I am grateful for. It may be in word or photos, but it will be those things that cause my heart to overflow with gratitude to my Savior.

A Thankful Heart {Three Word Wednesday}

Tomorrow we will celebrate Thanksgiving, a time of year that causes one to pause and reflect on all that is good in their life.  So often during this time of year I can tend to allow anxiety to overrun me.  It’s hard to remain balanced when life has me running here and there, with hardly time to breathe most days (although isn’t breathing automatic?).  I can allow the pressure and stress of the season to weigh heavy on my heart, and I will often forget to stop and give thanks to the One who is worthy of all praise and thanksgiving, at all times.

I want my heart to overflow

Gratitude A to Z

I am so grateful for God’s Word.  I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite scriptures through the alphabet.  I am going to use the first scripture that pops into my head for each letter.  I am sure I will have to dig for a few of them.

Here we go!

A-

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.”
(Isaiah 60:1)

B-

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
(Matthew 5:3)

C-

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
(Matthew 11:38)

D-

A New Birth

Today is my 46th birthday!

And no, I am not accepting the Lord for the first time. I’ve known Him for better than half of my life.  But I feel as if I am on the verge of something new.  I’ve been feeling a little low over the last few days.  I could blame it on exhaustion following my daughter’s wedding, financial stress, or some recent health issues.  But, I am realizing more and more that although I may not feel good, or what I may see in front of me is not always what I desire, I know this one thing….

GOD IS GOOD!

I feel as if I am on the verge of an awakening and I am excited about it.  God has been
